I tried to take the cooling system cap off and found it to be EXTREMELY difficult to remove and replace. I did this when I first got the car and it seemed to come of and on without a problem. Is there a problem with these caps?
Thanks.

Put a thin layer of silicone grease on the rubber O-rings.

It's kind of a pain to get it off (or on). It seems to help if you push down on it, but that puts force on the whole coolant reservoir, which seems to only be attached on the front side.

This is what works for me, with a microfiber towel under it.

Thanks for all the replies. I smeared pure silicone grease over the O ring, inside of reservoir and outside threads. Works great, now, very easy to turn in or out. Hope it's not too easy and unscrews itself in use.
I was concerned that the cap was defective. I had a 2016 Harley and they had gas caps that were defective. Initially they worked OK but, then, became impossible to remove. They had to replace them. China quality.

It won't unscrew by itself.
