Convert to Magneride?

A friend said they test drove both a standard and a Magneride equipped Mustang, and said the Magneride rode much better. I drive on a lot of lumpy bumpy roads, and would like to smooth them out a little. Is it possible to convert my stand suspension 22 GT to Magneride, and do you think it's would be worth it? I know having 20" wheels isn't helping the situation, so I lowered the cold pressure by 3 PSI. My DD is a '22 Acura TLX with adjustable ride control, and Comfort mode is so smooth! Even Normal is very good. What do you all think and or suggest I can do for my Mustang, and please don't say buy a Cadillac!

You'd have to run the numbers in parts, time and labor. The referenced thread ends with the thought that, while possible, it does not appear worthwhile.

I noticed your GT is not your DD. Consider trading in your '22 now, then swoop in for a clean Magneride GT when the economy softens? Another option would be something in an aftermarket offering which, while not Magneride, could offer you better comfort and performance.

After reading the entire MR thread, I don't think that's a direction I want to take. Any suggestions on Aftermarket offerings that might smooth out the ride a bit? Maybe coilovers with progressive rate springs?

If you want smooth, stay stock and far away from coilovers. Also the Mustang will never be Acura smooth so for your own sake you should refrain from trying to compare your car to that one.

But let's start with your issue. What about the stock suspension do you consider not smooth? Also what tires and psi are you running? Those make a much bigger difference in ride smoothness than any suspension short of air.

I'm running 20" wheels on A/S Tires. I have lowered the pressure by 3 PSI (to 32) to see if that helps. Haven't driven it enough to make an evaluation.

What specific tire model and size (specifically sidewall)? Not all tires are created equal, and rubberband tires with no sidewall tend to run rougher than ones with bigger softer sidewalls.

I had magneride and switched to Feal 441+ coilovers and the last 5 click on soft are meant to mimic a “luxury car ride” and it’s actually very comparable to how the magneride rode. On the 5th setting from softest. Very impressed with them, highly recommend.

I have owned 3 S550's at this point. My 2019 PP2 had magnaride, my other two did not. I drive a good mix of bumpy city streets and smooth country backroads. I don't have magnaride now, and it's not something I miss. The ride was definitely a little smoother, but not so much that it's something I'd consider for future vehicles. I'm just as happy with my stock, non magnetic suspension as I was with magnaride.

I got my Feals custom to my spec, drift valving with 14k front and 14k rear spring rates. The car is being built as a dual purpose daily driver/grassroots drift car. I’ve had BC racing coilovers on my previous drift/daily mustangs and the difference in ride on the street is night and day.

My '19 PP2 with Magnaride destroys my '17 GT w/out it. The harder I drive the car the more I notice it. To the point that the two cars don't even feel like the same chassis.
