If I can just say a few things.

You bought the car end of last year but you are stating things done every 5k, how would you know that?

How would you know this only started happening at the 15k mark? You have owned the car a few months you said.

Likely, and I would bet money on this, this is how the car has always sounded.
If it bothers you that much you got four solutions:

1) sell the car
2) add a bottle of ceratec with every oil change to help a bit
3) learn to love the sounds of the coyote
4) louder exhaust

Did you not do any research on these engines and find the million threads across the internet on the way the engine sounds before you bought?

^^^ Damn dude, wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?!🥶
He did make some solid points though. If you are buying a vehicle any "better" than your common daily driver, you should at the very least look into a list of known issue, with the "Coyote tick" being quite a infamous one. 🤣

Hello,

No offense taken to any answers or questions here, appreciate everyone commenting in this thread with their thoughts and info.

Did "some" research, mostly saw the 2K rattle and shift fork issues. And most people said the tick was multiple things so I did listen for it when buying the car.

As for asking me how I know oil change interval, well I know I did them, and the service history gave me the others I did not do.

Anyway, I have 5W-30 now and waiting for a warm day to throw the ceratec in. Then enjoy the car.

Thank you "paddles" for the explanation and "HKusp" for the recommendation too.

I will update when/if this makes it go away. Using 1 bottle for now.

Alright follow up time: 1 bottle of Ceratec used and about 80% to 90% of the noise is GONE. At first almost dead silent (or maybe my perception of it after seeing it go in like a placebo effect), now pretty much sitting at 90% noise reduction after 500ish miles.

Now all i hear is the noisy A10 auto trans.

So I guess since 1 bottle did the trick, no need for two unless the noise comes back, and if that does not work I am done worrying about it. Its clearly not hurting anything based off TSBs and other users.

I will keep this thread to document any other interesting observations [and perhaps a oil sample analysis]. Anyways, let me know what you think, all comments and ideas welcome!

Put the ceratec in with every oil change and you'll be good. I did this for the first 5 years I owned my car.

If you ever start doing your own oil changes/not dealer oil changes, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Plus comes with enough of the boron and zinc (These are the two main additives that quiet the tick) in it that you don't need ceratec to get rid of the noise. This is what I am on to now and it's great.
