Was out playing with sport mode this afternoon doing a few light low speed pulls in 1-->2-->3rd gears using the paddle shifters. I noticed some weird chatter coming from the engine during soft gas pedal load around 1,500 and 2,500 RPM. Mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear. (1st was too torquey to replicate).

It does away as RPM increases (or I cannot hear it due to exhaust).

Cause for concern or normal for this engine? (I've come to the conclusion that these motors might just have fun noises that are generally not a concern)

Nelson, our 5.0 engines are notorious for making funky sounds. I have a brand new 2018 GT and I have about 5500 miles on it and I have not noticed any chattering under load. However, when at idle, I hear slight ticking sound from the bottom end of the engine towards the firewall. I guess its normal since there is a thread about it and some people have had the block replaced only to have the noise return after a few hundred miles. Others have reported great success by changing the rod bearings ($5 part) and not have the issue return. What you are hearing could be anything. Hopefully other member much more knowledgeable can chime in.
