Finally_got_one - Thanks for the pic! This will takes the guessing out of putting the spring back together, if I ever decide to put it back. The clutch is now slightly heavier but the car has a better feel now.

I haven't removed it in my B302 as it feels fine. In the GT350 the spring makes the clutch feel way too light.
I feel the opposite after driving the GT350 for a while. The Boss was heavier clutched so the spring was more noticeable. Lighter clutch on the 350 and the spring is less obvious and kind of welcome in traffic.

If it bothers me on the track, I'll rip it out but until then it's getting a reprieve.

I drove the GT350 tonight and I highly recommend removing the spring. I can now feel in the pedal when the clutch starts to grab the flywheel. I couldn't feel that with the helper spring in. The additional effort to push the clutch in and let out w/out the helper spring compared to having it in is miniscule.

You're a girly man if you must have the helper spring in lol...;)

However on my Boss I may keep it in as the feel is just as good as the GT350 without the spring. Very strange.

Randy M, thanks for the feedback. One more question is I've read that some complained of slop in the pedal after removing it. Do you feel slop at the top of travel after removal?

I agree that the 'feel' of the clutch biting the flywheel as received from Ford is missing. That is what I'm looking for but don't want to get it at the expense of a floppy clutch.

Nah there's no slop. Take it out and try it. If you don't like it just put it back in.

Orig some posts had a "lighter" spring to replace the "heavy" stock spring. Can not find any post indicating if it was better than no spring and compared to stock

Any updates and what spring was the replacement.

Well guys I put mine back in as the pedal wasn't going all the way back up. Maybe by a millimeter but it bothered me so I put it back in. It wasn't a tremendously huge difference but I did have more clutch feel with it out. There are bigger problems in the world...

Yea, thanks for update. Your original posts had me wanting to do this. BTW, You can detect a mm of travel distance difference with your leg, or measured it?

I can feel it when I put my foot under the pedal and pull it up. So yeah there is a very faint bit of 'slop' I guess.

The clutch feel on the GT350 was quite a bit better than a normal GT (different clutch). It's very light, but I didn't have problems shifting smoothly in the GT350, but did in my GT before removing the spring. Funny story...after driving the 350 for a good long while, I got right back in my GT and nearly stalled when pulling away as I had gotten used to a much lighter clutch! lol

The only complaint I have is that the engagement point is higher than I've experienced. Between that and finding the proper seat adjustment I have some work to do.

It has taken me a little time but I now like the feel of this clutch much better than my 2011 GT 5.0. I am not messing with the spring.
