As long as its pH neutral you should not have an issue as the carbon has a clear coat. Ive used Sonax on my 350R wheels (painted) and all other cars with no issue. Just do it when the wheels are cool and do not let any product sit to where it can dry

I used a bucket of water and Magic Eraser on my R.

I used that trick you showed me. It works, but the abrasive nature of the ceramic makes you go through those magic erasers fast.

Yep it works. I used 3 erasers per wheel. I haven't seen anybody come up with a better solution so far.

Oh, I know. Its pure genius on your part. It does work. I was just letting everyone know that they need to buy a whole box of those things because they go quick.

But F'in A man, it works well.

Michael: Ford puts a thermal coating on the inside barrels of the front wheels to dissipate heat, that's the white part. I was going to rent a steam cleaner to do mine before putting them up for sale. Now, I'll just use the erasers...GREAT idea.

You are going to sell your wheels?

As an aside, use caution using the Magic Erasers as they are finely abrasive.

They're great, and I can see how they'd be fantastic for cleaning the ceramic portion of the CF wheel barrel, but I wouldn't use them elsewhere on the wheel....

Thinking very seriously about it, Tom. I can't see me mounting them again.
Yea, but they are part of the car. I have several sets that are part of my cars that will always be exactly that. If you sell those, you will probably regret it some day.

Agreed. Only use the magic Eraser on the ceramic heat barrier. The sponge isn't going to deeply scratch the clear coat on the wheel but it could haze/dull the finish. The Magic Eraser is a very mild abrasive not to be used on clear coat or painted finishes of the car.
