Im looking to drop my CHT's they climb up pretty quick getting above 230° after just some spirited driving in sport mode, would the gt350 water pump be a good upgrade? I currently have a reiche thermostat which helped drop the temps considerably and im using red line water wetter with about an 80-20 water to coolant ratio, some of you are reccomending the Aisin, I havent heard of that brand could someone drop a link for the s550 water pump if they have it?

Any info on your car? Base gt, pp1? Na or boosted? Does it happen quick or after prolonged driving, location, Etc... If your temps are climbing that quick without extreme outside temps and hard driving I'd start by making sure everything is working properly first.

Have you considered the Davies Craig EWP 150?

Yes, the Davies Craig Electric Water Pump (EWP) has been demonstrated to reduce cylinder head temperatures (CHTs) on the Ford Coyote engine, particularly in high-performance or racing scenarios. By decoupling the coolant flow from engine RPM and adding a digital controller, the system provides superior thermal management compared to the stock mechanical pump.
OnAllCylinders +3
Key Findings on Coyote Cylinder Head Temps:
  • Reduced Head Temperatures: Data logs from Coyote engines running the EWP showed that cylinder head temperatures ran cooler, with some logs showing CHTs staying below
    200∘F

    93∘C
    ) during high-performance sessions.
  • Post-Session Cooling: The EWP reduces heat soak effectively because the pump and fans can continue running at full flow (

) after the engine is turned off, dropping temperatures rapidly.
  • Consistent Flow: Unlike mechanical pumps, which can cavitate at high RPMs and reduce coolant flow, the Davies Craig EWP maintains constant, high flow rates regardless of engine speed, preventing hot spots in the heads.
  • Performance Benefits: In addition to cooling, the EWP eliminates the parasitic drag of the stock water pump, which can provide an additional 8–13 horsepower

That offer a Coyote specific adapter kit for it too. I have one in mine, but haven’t tested it yet, as I’m still building the car. I can tell you that it does delete the thermostat.

If you're seeing 230 F / 110 C, how are the fans doin'?

What are temps when idle, in traffic?

Temps when driving "regular"?

Temps when driving spirited?

And yes, the nature of the car, how used, its history and physical setup.

None of the suggestions are going to help. Get a cylinder cooling mod or head crossover kit. The cht sensor is in the wrong head in the back where there is not a lot of coolant flow. The kit fixes it

The fan doesn’t come on fully until about 230 unless you have it tuned otherwise. Get programming software and set up the fan temps you want. My experience is this has more influence than any hardware mod to the cooling system.

I also have the head cooling mod too. I haven’t done any testing on it though, but figured it would be good insurance. Something I’d like to point out about this mod is, it would be next to impossible to do with the engine in the car. Either the e fine or the tranny must come out. I took the opportunity to install mine during a tranny build.

Sorry for the late response, its a 2019 GT convertible, im in houston TX, the car has always been treated damn near like an F1 car lol, bought at 28k miles CPO new long block under CPO at 70k miles, since then temps jumped roughly 10 dehrees at all general instances, for example if my CHT were at 190 normally this one wanted to be at 200, under load where the old motor might want to stay at 220-225, this one climbs to 228-235(under load meaning repeated WOT, decel and rapid accel from 50mph-100mph) it rapidly climbs in sport mode, when kicking it in sport i probably have 1-3 mins of spirited driving(awesome throttle response in sport keeping me in the power band, shifting at least at 4-5k rpm minimum, braking hard with aggressive downshifts) depending on the temperature outside heavily, I get alot more leeway at night, in the day time I might get a single pull in sport before my temps are at 222.
Fixes and diag:

Got back from ford with high CHT, tried burping system, test drove, same issue.

Took it to ford, they re built the transmission under warranty and said theres nothing else wrong.

Put a CAI, LTH full X pipe and cat backs.
Reiche thermostat, red line water wetter and 80-20 water to coolant ratio.

Helped drop temps considerably, especially in traffic and under load, I am sitting at my stock numbers now on the old long block with these mods.

Important note: I do have a P05A1, this is for the grill fans, I plan to wrap my car pretty soon and ill probably take the bumper off for that to inspect the intake blades but im not sure how exactly to fix it, its possible these could be closing at high speeds, however its odd because ive had this code since 40k miles and no heating issues until the new long block.
