I checked my install. Looks good but all bolts need 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

I am missing one bolt and clip. Anyone have part numbers for the hardware?
If i remember correctly it goes something like this:

M34523467654X-SH-4365498000000 -2X25 WZ SVT

:D

Seriously like Steve said , they tell you each never ending part # in the install video on page 1 .

So I know the splitter is integral to top performance of this vehicle but I have a heretical question to posit. Would it be ok to just leave the splitter off for those not tracking? Have those who have driven home without the splitter noticed any difference in handling once it was installed? Personally I don't think the car looks bad at all without the splitter and if it is going to be a PITA will it be that detrimental?

So I kn“You might think the presence of a Ferrari would overshadow everything else in the field. It didn’t. Perhaps even more electrifying, a beast on the track and a Saturn V rocket out on the open road, the new Ford Shelby GT350 had us fighting for seat time. The mountain walls lining the serpentine asphalt of Highway 168 wriggling down into Big Pine, California, are probably still echoing with the shock waves of its 526-horse V-8 screaming at 8,500 rpm” ow the splitter is integral to top performance of this vehicle but I have a heretical question to posit. If you dont care for looks don't put it on. But if you ask me? It is integral to the design of the car especially at high speeds. I open mine up on some roads and the stability is insane. I can not compare without it since I installed mine the day I brought her home. It really is not difficult if you have basic mechanic skill. It took me about an hour but the half moon clips really sucked ass.

I, personally, don't think the car looks right without it on. Depending on the viewing angle you can see the fascia tabs underneath etc. Also, by not installing it you leave those tabs exposed to damage and leave off the only exterior "Shelby" designation from the factory.

It is fine without the splitter with a few caveats. Up to 140 mph it is fine and stable without the splitter. There is a lot of weight over the front wheels. Take care to seal up the gap between the skid plate and the lower fascia however. There is not much holding the front of the skid plate on to the bottom of the fascia and it depends on the splitter being there to help anchor it and keep air from getting in between that gap. I imagine if you were going fast enough the force of air could cause the skid plate to rip loose from the fascia (the force of my splitter detaching in the front was enough to rip the skid plate loose as well, damaging the fascia).

Isn't there part of the bumper sticking down with the attach points showing? Plus, won't the under pan have a stumpy front grabbing the air?

Without a lift how high do you think would make the install on the ground easier? You think driving up a couple 2x6's say 5" would work?

Not really. You can get a pair of jackstands for pretty cheap. I would recommend trying that over a couple planks of wood.

True. I've done that method for putting in mufflers before and it worked great. But I guess I have to get higher.

Several forum members have reported their splitters have come loose at high speed with disastrous outcomes. Several were completely destroyed. They are not only installed wrong, but are missing several fasteners and J-clips. Having said that, IMHO it is just so important to get it installed correctly that I didn't want to risk it myself with my own jacks and jack stands. So I broke down and called the Service Director at the dealer I bought the car from, and he agreed to allow me into the service bay and watch as they removed all 3 pieces of the splitter and reinstalled correctly using the video from this thread. They even had to "borrow" 4 fasteners from another 350 they had just installed the splitter on. (Should have said mis-installed). It took 2 mechanics an hour to get it done. And that was on lift. My car has zero "hood flutter" at high speed. As it should for 65K! Geez Ford.:headbonk:

Spent most of the day yesterday fixing mine. Got it done with no gap! It was incredibly hard getting the small center tab lined up!! :frusty:

Okay I just noticed, so I take it my front splitter wasn't installed correctly? :frusty:

Thanks for this valuable info

*** FIX INSTRUCTIONS IN POST #20 ***

I purchased a blue/white car this past Monday. I was inspecting the underside of the splitter the other night and noticed gap between the top of the splitter and the bottom lip of the fascia. It looks like the photo attached. Thanks to photos provided by ThreeFiveO I determined that my splitter is incorrectly installed.

You can watch the Ford Service install video here...

R - model video

I've seen pictures in these forums of other cars that appear to have this issue. It looks to me like the dealer service departments aren't watching the video and ensuring that the tabs on the splitter are positively locking in the tabs on the fascia. In the attached photo you can see a hole that is ~1/4 inch wide, near the center line of the car, between the stripes. There is a tab on the splitter that should be seated in this hole. In the install video they instruct the installer to wack on the splitter with a bundled up shop towel and rubber mallet to ensure the tabs interlock. My guess is that techs just aren't watching the video and following that advice. I stopped by a local dealer this morning that has a car and their splitter is not installed correctly either. It looks pretty much like my car. As a matter of fact their tech didn't even bother to use the screws that are driven up at a 45 degree angle (smh.) I've seen pictures of a Race Red instance on these forums that appears to have the same issue.

Bottom line, if your car was delivered to you with the splitter installed you might want to check it.

This thread really helped me. My R was delivered yesterday and It was gapped and not snapped in just like the original picture. The tech was already gone for the day so I fixed it at home. Took about 30 minutes to loosen it all up and then lift and push it back until it clicked in at each tab. I also opened the wheel liners and no half moon clips installed and so I have to get those to put in myself.

I spoke to my salesman how alot of people's splitters were installed wrong and their dealership did not even have the video. My salesman said the foreman is a huge mustang enthusiast, and he will handle with care.

Nice Email from my dealership,

Hi, my name is Mark, I'm the shop foreman at Veterans Ford. First off, huge congratulations on your new purchase! That's one beast of a car, absolutely the best performing Mustang built to date! Second, I understand your concern with the front splitter installation, I personally installed it and did so with great care and following Ford installation procedure verbatim. I was told you wanted to speak with me about the car. I'm more than happy to share product knowledge and answer any questions you may have about it. Feel free to call or text

Ive had mine in twice now. The second time I told them to watch the video. They said, after viewing the video it was just fine and Ford Warranty said it was fine. Ping a friend at FP and he says nope. So I check, no 45 degree bolts in the center of the splitter and I have about a quarter inch gap. Going back tomorrow since I don't have a lift. Had better be right this time!!!!
