Steve16, Thank you for posting the link to the splitter installation! Couldn't have installed mine without it. The tips from other members helped also. I'm almost done. I'm missing one of the large J-clips that came with the car (not in the bag with the splitter). I need to loosen up the bolts (on the middle splitter) so I can line up the middle belly-pan screws. They don't line up well.

I was able to do the installation with the car on the ground. Had to turn the wheels to access the fender liner. Does anyone have the part number for the larger rectangular J-clip? I need to pick one up to complete the installation.

Thank you for everyone's help! Installation tips, photos and video link.

Ordered mine from AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake in MN. Price was $300.55 plus $28 shipping for a total of $328.55. Part # FR3Z-17626-E. Scuffed my original one up pretty good parking it the second day I had it.

*** FIX INSTRUCTIONS IN POST #20 ***

I purchased a blue/white car this past Monday. I was inspecting the underside of the splitter the other night and noticed gap between the top of the splitter and the bottom lip of the fascia. It looks like the photo attached. Thanks to photos provided by ThreeFiveO I determined that my splitter is incorrectly installed.

You can watch the Ford Service install video here...

R - model video

http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/videos/GT350R_RsplitterFINAL.mp4

I've seen pictures in these forums of other cars that appear to have this issue. It looks to me like the dealer service departments aren't watching the video and ensuring that the tabs on the splitter are positively locking in the tabs on the fascia. In the attached photo you can see a hole that is ~1/4 inch wide, near the center line of the car, between the stripes. There is a tab on the splitter that should be seated in this hole. In the install video they instruct the installer to wack on the splitter with a bundled up shop towel and rubber mallet to ensure the tabs interlock. My guess is that techs just aren't watching the video and following that advice. I stopped by a local dealer this morning that has a car and their splitter is not installed correctly either. It looks pretty much like my car. As a matter of fact their tech didn't even bother to use the screws that are driven up at a 45 degree angle (smh.) I've seen pictures of a Race Red instance on these forums that appears to have the same issue.

Bottom line, if your car was delivered to you with the splitter installed you might want to check it.
I think there is a error in the video. Fast fwd to the 3rd & 4th fastener citation for the W715060-S450B M4.2 x 25. One of the two citations should be a different PN. Since the bag of fasteners is not marked what is what, adds to the confusion

Varying the topic a bit... How much have you scraped your splitter? I have a speed bump in front of my house that unless I baby crawl sideways over it, I will scrape. Causing my sphincter to pucker!

Also does it on some dips in the road. I hate it!

Any thoughts on how to protect it?
Its designed to take the abuse without being an issue. When it gets too chewed up, its cheap to replace. Its why Ford selected a molded unpainted plastic vs the other options. Just imagine if they used a CF splitter...

If you're referring to the belly pan screws, it's been mentioned a couple of times in this thread. Even so, any tech should be able to figure out the part change with a few seconds of thought.

I got this part number from another member:
Large J-Clip
The Large J-Clips were originally part number W700528 S439............but have since been replaced by part #W700528 S309.

It was also suggested that I go to NAPA Auto Parts and get a replacement part. So I took the large J-clip to NAPA and ordered a bag. They only come in a bag of 7. Here's the part number: 665-1997. Order 1 each. You will get a bag of 7 each J-clips.

They fit exactly the same. They don't look quite the same, but work.

Note: I tried to order the J-clip from one dealer in person and one online and neither had it in stock. They had to be ordered. If you order the J-clips they may take a week or so to get.

So dumb question, are the rivets on the splitter actually securing anything or are they just there to provide some guard against scratches on the bottom? I've been trying to find a PN for them because I thought they held it together, but watching the video that doesn't appear to be the case?

I actually was wondering the same thing.

So no, not a dumb question at all. ;)

Some of my rivet shafts extend a bit beyond the rivet. I'll have to take a some snips to them.

First week of driving the car I thought I had scraped the splitter really bad but after inspecting the splitter no damage but did notice the rivets along the splitter. I believe they are intended to protect it.

Yes this happened to me as well. It was a relief to see.
