I didn't want to bugger up this thread with numerous photos of the wing I received yesterday so I created a separate thread.

I called Lethal yesterday and wanted an update, was told they would contact AC never got an answer. Not happy šŸ˜ž. This time I was also told they could not tell me where I am in the pecking order. A month ago I was told I was # 20. Getting close to canceling.

This is not right. You can't take someone's money like that and leave them in the dark. At the very least, you should be given the best estimation of delivery and you should know where you are at in the order of things.

It torques me to no end when people play games like this. As I suggested, you have an order confirmation with a timestamp on it. I think all involved should raise holy hell with lethal and at least get the basic information so that you can decide what to do.

$3,000 is a lot of money to hold on to when there is no end in sight. You ought to be given the basic information to make an informed decision.

Do you think they couldn’t tell you what number you are because they too are confused or because they don’t want the customers finding out #21 got theirs before #15?

My best guess is they dont know when the shipping container is going to dock on the west coast so they cant give anyone any eta. Because short of that I cant see why they couldn't tell you. But thats my opinion.

Your place in line should not be a secret.

That’s the issue I ran into with my carbon fiber S-wing I ordered. They knew it was on the boat, but they had no idea when it would dock, be unloaded, or even put on a truck. AC is at the mercy of the shipping system as much as anyone else and they certainly aren’t paying a premium to have their stuff GPS tagged.

I think everyone understands that, but this big secret of where you are in line is the problem.

I agree with you 100%, but it seems Transparency is not in the cards with any of these vendors and therein lies the problem and frustration. There are so many things wrong with any of these vendors, No one should have to pay for the item in full with such a long lead time.

Plus Tom, check with your wife, I believe there is law on this that when payment in full is rendered that goods have to be produced by a timely manner. I have to try and find it but I think this is against the law, because I think the time frame is something like 90 days I believe after payment.

Earlier this year I purchased a complete aero package from AJ Hartman for the R. He built it to maximize the allowances for the ruleset I needed. It took ~12 weeks for him to build, and he emailed production updates along the way (very good communication). I knew the exact timeline and status of everything during the process, without ever having to ask.

He's more of a "boutique" operation, but you'll get a dialed-in product from an awesome craftsman. Just another option FYI.

You guys mean to say AC is buying this stuff from Rinky Dinky Do over in the Great Peoples Republic?????

Does AC even produce carbon fiber parts? Or own an Autoclave?

WOW.

Good to be a middleman just taking in the cash.

Because it’s a higher profit margin for them. This is the downside of capitalism, money and greed over customer satisfaction.

Guess so.

Somewhere my utter stupidity kicked in and I jumped into a crazy assumption that a company named XYZ Composites actually made composites.

Oh do I feel foolish now.

Called Lethal again to follow up on the call yesterday, which I got no response back, this time I demanded an answer to how long and if I am in the first production or not. Placed on hold while Lethal called AC, when they came back on the line the guy said it was hard to get information from AC but finally they told him I am not in the first production and it would be at least 2 more months or more. Very disappointed!

Wow.
I know a lot of companies take orders for products they haven’t produced yet but I feel like AC should’ve had a decent size batch before allowing people to pay full price up front.

don’t know if that would change anything though
