Im getting a 5 year deal also. They have a 9 year for a bunch more. The guy im going to has a very good following, has called me many times to talk details and the process and the why’s......Im comfortable with it, Only reason I am doing it is that I DD this car 400-500 miles for work weekly at minimum and well I sold my old house and made a butt load of money....andI now live in NC where is 9 million bugs per square inch and rains all the fkin time .........unlike Colorado

The longer the years the harder and thicker the coat. And yes the auto car wash actually as I found out today, has removed most of my ceramic coat and micro swirled the fuck outta my shit. Which can be fixed. Don’t go through auto washes fellas lol. 2 year should cost about $300 5 year about $750. Ya gotta make sure the person knows what they’re doing.
If they're charging $300/$750 for a 2/5 year coating, they assuredly do NOT know what they're doing.

My 3-year coating package on a regular size car like a Mustang is $1550. Wheels off, coated and baked, another $300.

So you're a pro? Can you tell us the best way for a DIY person to minimize dust when doing clay, paint correction(polish), ceramic coating, etc???

MINIMUM price for a coating job should be around $1K or so.

These guys doing them for half that are cutting corners or just have no idea what they're doing.

Yes, I am. I own a detailing business and I'm an IGL Certified Installer.

I don't have time to be really long winded but wash, chemical and mechanical decontamination, correction/polish, prep of the surface after correction, proper installation, and(usually) topping are a few of the steps. There are a lot of little nuances and steps in between that I could write paragraphs on, but I won't.

Best way to control dust/residue is an indoor installation. Temperature and humidity should also be controlled for the best results and easier install.

It is not a physically tough job, just time and tunes and beers!! .... following the Coating the next day..I’ll apply Reload...then done!! Note, the car will be in the garage...2-3 days

I would pay to get this done on my other vehicles, but now I just do it myself. Its not your typical ceramic coat with a 3+ year expextancy but 6-8 months. Which is fine, takes about 20 mins to do the entire car so 20 mins every 6 months is ok with me.

I use Always Dry LDC Light. Its a light ceramic coat hence only 6 month durability but very easy to apply.

Totally agree. Make sure to do two or three coats....I wish I had done that instead of just one. But I would have to remove the existing coating to do it again and not that motivated. :)
