So I am looking to buy a passenger side catch can. Im not sure if all are equal in terms of what they filter and such. Ive looked at the upright, j&l, and mishimoto. I kind of prefer where the mishimoto mounts and am curious if its a little easier to access than the others?

Had a JLT too and honestly didnt like it much.

I should also note that my plan is to install a whipple next year , so I'd prefer something that would fit and worknwith itnon the pcc side. Thats part of the reason I was looking at the mishimoto as it mounts to the left of rad overflow.

What I like about the J&L (previously JLT) is that mine included a mounting bracket to secure to the R/brace. I would go with it again because of it's secure mounting, and yet it is fairly easy to remove/empty the reservoir.
There are 2 things I don't care for:
a) Access to the windshield washer reservoir is restricted.
b) It took a bit of restraining to prevent contact with adjacent routings along the R/S of the radiator.

How bad is it to install the Ford performance catch can with a FP CAI kit installed? I know in the instructions it indicates it will not line up properly.

Curious, what did you not like about it?
To be clear I had a JLT drivers side mount.

Mount bracket was awkward. Hoses fit but took up a ton of space because can was on the chassis (FP can is on the engine). Didnt love the filter material. Overall, pretty heavy for a small capacity. But it worked fine,

but if I had to pick again, I’d still get another FP unit (and I did after overtightening and cracking one lol.). More compact, larger capacity, lighter weight. Fits its spot perfectly. Light short oem lines.

Thanks for the detailed reply!

Edumicating myself about catch cans and seeing how it compares to the OE solution was interesting.
