And it doesn't address the problem engmike described. Doesnt really affect a wide open drag car, but the extra rich mixture street driving is not a good thing. The noise might be a problem
If you disable the CEL and FAOSC, you lose some front/wideband o2 sensor accuracy. I’m not sure how much and I haven’t seen it quantified, but many seem to think it’s negligible. The other downside is that with either of those switched off in the tune, you perpetually remain in “not ready” status which equates to failed emissions check pretty much anywhere they plug in to the obd port as part of the test.Right. And in real world applications not having the narrowband amounts to, from everything I've read, basically nothing when it come to performance or reliability.
In the factory tune, gutting the cats will result in p0420/430 and it will disable FAOSC automatically. I’m not sure what all the other manufacturers do and the reasons why, but I do know that the use of factory widebands and closed loop at wot isn’t as common outside of ford, so maybe that’s a clue.IF it did, then FORD would most definitely have the CEL triggered / power reduction mode like a lot of other manufactures do, no ?
It won't be 'extra rich' in normal street driving.but the extra rich mixture street driving is not a good thing.
It would be fun to see some CFD models of the header to mid connect using stock cat, GT500 cat, No cat.I swapped in a pair of gt500 cats on the dyno, richened it up a bit to control exhaust temp, and made another pull. To our surprise, it gained about 15 hp with cats.
Right.I have CFD software but you’re talking about a few days to a few weeks of modeling.
I'm in Ontario. Had no idea GESI was in Ontario.GESI is “local” for us.

Being in Ontario as well, I agree the emissions testing was a farce.
Not sure where you are in Canada, but the police are out there and do A LOT of “sniffing” and checking in Ontario. It’s nothing for them to hand out big fines. They’re cracking down on anything car related.
Mike is reporting a 10% error. That's significant. It won't be 'extra rich' in normal street driving.
If the car is too loud they and or smells wonky they will stop you around hereI'm in Ontario. Had no idea GESI was in Ontario.
Well all I can say is look at the pic I posted. I check my logs religiously, I don't see anything unusual.Mike is reporting a 10% error. That's significant.
The easiest way is to get a gen1 driver side header. They have a flange. Then all you need to do is have a shop cut off the flange on the MAK pipe and re-clock it for the new manifold. The Mak Perf is roughly 3k plus you need to have the flange welded onto the header. They didn't make it easy for us
He is saying the widebands are reporting wrong info to the ECU. It looks like it is correct but is not. To test you would have to add a stand alone wideband sensor to check it.Well all I can say is look at the pic I posted. I check my logs religiously, I don't see anything unusual.
