I bought some black elastic cording and rigged up a single line running from front to back. That line holds my first aid kit and a jump starter battery in place. You could also get a box at the Container Store that fits in that space and use the cord to hold it in place.

Seeking ideas for stashing cargo in the trunk spaces behind each wheel well. Already got the stock cargo net, but that won't easily manage smaller stuff.

I have a small softside bag that fits nice and snug behind the wheel, but no means to keep it in place - so it just slides out and across the trunk on the Weathertech mat.

My wife's Outback had side cargo nets that would be perfect, but I can't find one that fits the gap.

There also used to be aftermarket hard plastic partitions for my old Hyundai that velcroed into place, but can't find those either.

Anyone got any solutions?
I just ended up using Dewalt tool bags and a 3 zone container for my trunk stuff. Works well for all the nit bits and tools I have in the trunk.

I have a foldable box for this purpose in every car.

Everything, that is permanently in a car, is (in most cases) in the spare wheel well next to the 19" space saver, jack & wrench (work gloves, jump cable, tow strap, spare liter of oil and a rag, tourniquet, over here by law mandatory warning triangle and first aid kit).

Not at all, I haven't noticed that it moves a lot.
I have the mat from Ford.

Sorry for the slow response. Here are a couple of pics one "unloaded" showing the route of the small elastic band and a "loaded" pic showing how I use it.

I travel with a tourniquet, but it's in the arm rest in the hope I can will be able to reach it if I need it for myself.
