Seeking ideas for stashing cargo in the trunk spaces behind each wheel well. Already got the stock cargo net, but that won't easily manage smaller stuff.

I have a small softside bag that fits nice and snug behind the wheel, but no means to keep it in place - so it just slides out and across the trunk on the Weathertech mat.

My wife's Outback had side cargo nets that would be perfect, but I can't find one that fits the gap.

There also used to be aftermarket hard plastic partitions for my old Hyundai that velcroed into place, but can't find those either.

Anyone got any solutions?

I have the weathertech cargo mat also. I have the subwoofer on the passenger side but I use a side net to keep items in the area on the left side. The rear of the side net attaches to the stock net attachment points. I installed one forward into the cargo mat and put both the upper and lower forward net loops on that one point. Although not perfect this setup has served me well.

I was thinking the same thing, that's similar to the Outback solution. Just can't find the right size net, what did you use?

Forgive me for being a little off topic......
I wonder if those blocks that grip the carpet in the trunk, would be strong enough to hold a 50-60 pound bag of rocks right up behind the rear seats, without it skidding all over when I accelerate hard?
Reason I ask is I had to pick up two 50 pound bags of crushed marble to fill some washouts in my shitty road base driveway a few weeks ago.
And that weight in the rear really stopped all my tire spin from a standing start.
It might be worth keeping at least one back there all the time. But I wouldn't want in flopping all over the place.

Back in the day I worked out of the back of a Grand Cherokee as basically a construction maintenance handyman. I carried several things in the back including a 4 drawer, flip top toolbox. It easily weighed 50 lbs and was held in place by four of those carpet grabbing corners. This was years before "pack-out" style boxes became a thing. They held it well

Are those the type where there's a flat section on the bottom across the diagonal where the weight of the cargo would hold it against the carpet?

Weathertech and others offer something similar, but I don't think my light cargo would be heavy enough

I kept it simple and just put the one forward attachment hook on the weathertech mat.
I have this but wonder about Mounting on carpeted wheel well inside boot or trunk. Recurrent nightmares about drilling in to rear wiring loom or something under the carpet

Buy a spool of elastic cording and make your own cargo net to any size you want. You can add clips, S hooks, or any type of fasteners to adapted to your cars fasteners. Go to any craft store for supplies.

Just get whatever net that's to long and get tailor or shoe repair to alter it to your fit markings.

I have a lot of stuff in the empty spare well.
