No, I didn’t think for a minute he was gonna strip has box, but he might be interested to see what’s inside it?

I’m kinda sick of rude people on here.
How arrogant are you to think you should go through life never encountering anyone or anything that doesn't agree with you?

All the other gears are perfect. I’m assuming it’s some sort of connection issue. I thought something would be blocking the reverse gear channel but when the car is off, it slides in perfectly, so there isn’t anything blocking it.
If it works fine engine off but binds running then it's not likely the linkage.
What it could be is a loose/broken trans or engine mount letting everything torque a little bit. That could mimic binding linkage because it would be buy not really the fault of the linkage.
Or it's the clutch not fully releasing.

Either way it should go back to the installer to be corrected.

I could duplicate on my EcoBoost but it took some doing to get just the right amount of clutch drag. Ie. With the clutch just barely dragging I could get 3rd to go into gear but balk harder for 1st.

Your throw out is not indexed properly or is rocking it it's mount. As previous poster, go smack your mechanic.

Additional info:

It’s raining here and for fun I decided to clutch kick and have some fun. As the tires were breaking traction, the shifter wobbles so much in first gear. It was pretty obnoxious. Could it be loose transmission mounts or shifter mounts and something isn’t lined up?

Doubt it. The eclutch has no mechanical attachment to the body like the old z bar setups if the 60s etc. Have you tried moving the seat closer to the wheel to see if the pedal is bottoming out like it should? How much free play is there on the pedal? It should have just enough to keep the throwout bearing from spinning all the time.
A broken mount will not affect the clutch one way or the other.
Just a thought: when Ford started using hydraulic clut hes on the pickups, after you bled the line you could pull back on the pedal and it would click like a ratchet and make a longer throw when applied.

I drive with my knees bent so I always push the clutch in as much as it can go when shifting. I’m just curious about why the shifter shook around that much as if someone grabbed it underneath and wobbled it

Mount could be broken but it has nothing to do with the clutch. The only thing from slave to throwout bearing is hydraulic line.

'Could just be that you've abused the hell out of your trans, and it's dying from "clutch kicking" and gorilla shifting.

Seriously....what is "clutch kicking"?

Update:

Took it to a shop that specializes in transmissions and was told it’s the clutch.

I still have warranty on the car so hopefully it gets changed out for free.

I dumped the clutch in the rain. The clutch it’s only about 2-3 months old. Got it installed at a Ford Dealership. I did the proper 500 mile break in before doing any spirited driving. One thing I did notice in those 3 months was the clutch drag. Anything over 5k rpm felt rough, as if it wasn’t fully disengaging.

Shop reported that the issue is the clutch. It’s not fully disengaging. Taking it back to the dealer. The clutch is under warranty. Here’s to another 4 months of the car sitting at the stealership!

UPDATE:

Brought it back to the dealer and they took a look at it. Clutch slave cylinder is falling apart and that’s why the pressure in the clutch is so weak.

Where is the location of the Clutch slave cylinder? Is it something I swap out myself?

dealer quoted me $1300.

It's going to be inside the bell housing of the transmission. This link will give you an idea what one looks like.

Sorry to say, replacing involves pulling the transmission. The work they did prior to replace the clutch, they'll perform again. The throwout bearing/slave cylinder is not all that expensive; it's a simple device. The cost is in the labor.

You can do it yourself. It will require disconnecting the clutch line from the tranny, followed by removing the driveshaft and unbolting and lowering the tranny to gain access to the slave cylinder. There are only two small bolts that mount the slave cylinder inside the tranny’s bell-housing. Bench bleed the slave cylinder and use a little blue loctite on the two bolts and torque to 89 in-lbs. You wont have to remove the tranny from underneath the car and it can remain on the transmission jack while you do the work.
