The performance per dollar will never be favorable NA when compared to FI as others have mentioned. That said, my car gained 8 tenths 60-130mph going from stock exhaust manifolds with hf cats / stock cams to Catless LTH / Comp Cams 433430.

Never understood this concept. If you have to identical FI cars, ecept one has quality aftermarket cams, the cammed FI car will destroy non-cammed FI car.

Anything you do to increase horsepower is always a win/win.
It makes sense to me. Spending $4k for cams and manifold drains the Go Fast piggy bank when FI doesn't have to cost that much more and can add 250hp instead of 25.

Just don’t…..no matter what anyone says, a good engine calibration for them just doesn’t exist. The best any tuner has done is masked calibration problems by cheating in the tune.
Couldn't agree more. Don't do it. I have Comp Cams, E85, Ported everything and the power increase is barely noticeable. E85 is the only noticeable power increase on a N/A build unless you're going to build a crazy engine.

If you want to go crazy na records, swap to a pushrod 6L up motor. Our coyotes arent the best for na. Stock cams are super good with the variable timing, yes you can squeeze out a few hp but from what i hear, anything 1000whp and less gets marginal power, totally not worth the big cost of cams.

Get boost if you want to push forward, even a small boost amount will get you 5x the hp per dollar spent, get any centri setup to keep a similar to stock powerband, and in general upward mobility under boost for coyotes is huge.

I never understood na builds on this platform, a crap ton of money to get to like 500whp, meanwhile any boost adder with zero otherwise mods gets you 600whp out the door with ease

Here's an A-B. FBO E85 vs. my Comp Cams build I get to 520+rwhp SAE Holley low-ram because I did the little extras. "NSR" no springs required is meant to factory redline. The heck with that, I want to shift at 8200rpm and do. So I did PAC 1281X springs, titanium retainers, tensioners, chains, etc.
Blue is FBO with ported stock Gen3 manifold. Green was before Soler 95mm TB and a very light home port match on the lower ports of the Holley. Pump E85. My tuning with HPtuners and it has excellent driveability and shifts great.

I tried to upgrade my cams, the phasers were cut wrong and the oil pressure would drop and VCTs wouldn't work. Cost quite a bit of money and time, was done at the shop. Now that I have pulled the top end apart, if I do it again I will replace them with something bigger. It was not hard, just tedious.
