I doubt that Ford can do anything like it without outsourcing all development to a 3rd party partner with actual capability
Are we just talking about the motor or the whole car? Cause the Ford GT is WAY more special than the ZR1 - minus the motor part. Which to be fair could be solved pretty easily with the predator or a built coyote (not saying they're more special than the FPC LT7), but the power numbers would be doable.

Good point and agreed. Ford still has to green light it though. Alas, it’s probably wishful thinking at this point. Still excited to see what GTD does though
Financial issues aside, the one ray of hope we have of this happening is that Jim Farley is a racer.

Whatever it is, it’s still gonna have a pool table strapped to it’s @ss. :)
I’m ten steps away from being a frustrated SF90 Stradale owner.

Im with you lol..... the performance is undeniable. But to me the car's looks are just off, and the rear end looks like a box

I think the big wing on the aero package looks way better than the Z07 butterfly wing. And overall, the ZR1 looks better than the base car, but yeah they didn’t get the booty right. I’m kinda biased though, the C7 is the best looking Vette ever IMO.

And who will do it and then build actual cars? Multimatic, right? Or do you suggest they put whole new production line in Flat Rock?

What? Ford built the Ford GT, there was no outside help or engineering that I'm aware of. The Predator motor and coyotes were also developed by Ford...

Yea I'm with ya on the big wings, that butterfly thing is bad lol. My fav is the c6 z06/zr1 looks wise but the C7 > C8 for me as well

I'm already trying to figure out how I'm going to swing one. What about you guys?

They probably won't stop building these cars until the market gets saturated until the point they are sitting on lots for 18 - 25 % off MSRP like the C7 ZR1 and Z06 in 2019.

Tadge has every intention to get one to everybody who wants and can afford one.

“80 - 200 - 80 in roughly 25 seconds. Trap speed 150s in quarter mile. Well under 10 seconds. EV type acceleration. Production starts 2025. Slow ramp up production”, quoted from Chief engineer.

Realistically, the first people with the car probably won’t get them until the end of 2025.

From the sounds of it they will build as many as they can sell. The price will determine how many are sold. It will definitely attract people that buy real super cars. Whatever the MSRP, it will be hard to get at that point at first, but it will probably eventually be had at MSRP.

Realistically, we are about 2 - 3 years from that point.
I'm hoping for 2026-2027 for MSRP. I'll never pay ADM for anything.

The GTD is always going to be a Mustang with a body-kit. This ZR1 actually looks like a super car.
You do know the GTD is basically the GT3 race car with street clothes on, right? It’s more than just some bolt on body kit stuff…

Yeah it still looks like a Mustang but don’t let the looks fool you. It’s all functional stuff.

Not saying one is better than the other, but by all accounts so far, both the ZR1 and GTD belong in the same supercar conversation

It may be all race car underneath, but, NO way in hell I would spend that kind of money on a mustang of any kind! Personally there isn't a mustang worth $100k to me.
