So with all the rumors about why our cars were on hold I thought I'd add another theory/rumor. (I'm not conconvinced of the heat shield problem since it only came from a regional rep)

I'm sure most evryone has heard of the squealing brakes problem. They just issued a TSB for it. Guess what the affected dates are. Cars built before 2/11/15. If that's not the real reason for the hold it's one hell of a coincidence. Out of all the rumors, this is the only one with any real substance to back it up.

Is the 'squealing brakes' TSB for just a specific type of brake? Did the Brembo cars get shipped immediately? My car did not have Brembos and has been on hold for four weeks.
If both types of brakes are squealing, there is something seriously wrong.

It applies to the GT non-pp and the Ecoboost PP.

My convert is an EcoBoost non-PP and has been held for 4 weeks and still no transit. So the hold is for multiple fixes not just brakes!

They probably used the held cars to determine which models were affected. The timing couldn't be any closer. There was a large amont of cars realeased earlier this week and the TSB was issued 3/10.

I called my dealer and guess what he told me 'It was a heat shield on some cars'.

If he had told me earlier I would have waited. I argued with him for weeks it was a QC hold and I got every excuse in the book.

I wish you the best of luck. It is a great car, but in my humble opinion, Ford sucks.

Checked COTUS today and I have an EDD of 3/28 Still in awaiting shipment though. I sure hope COTUS is right.

Interesting coincidence... Although my ordered a GT w/ the Brembos, and mine was also stuck on hold. 15 days to go and still awaiting shipment...

'It was a heat shield on some cars'...other dealers have told their buyers that Flat Rock informed them that it was the 'squealing brakes'. After 5 weeks and counting, I am wondering what Flat Rock is going use as an excuse next!

well we went today to pick up my wife's ruby red GT PP and left it there. Issues seen were the back window was crooked like others have said(not sure if I will have them mess with this not as bad as others), driver's seat leather was loose on side of seat, back seat had a scratch in leather, and the biggest reason was that the white stitching on seats was brown in color on passenger seat half way down the side of it for a good 6-8 inches. it was very noticeable especially outside in day light. they tried to see if cleaning it will work but it didn't. They have to call ford and see how they will handle it before I sign any paperwork. the body panels were good aligned and hood shut good. Let's see what their answer is on Monday
