As the title states, is it possible that my the outer lip of my wheel snapped when I hit boost? Here’s what happened. I was getting on the freeway in 3rd about 30mph, gave it some gas (half or less throttle) felt boost and heard the spooling so let off the gas a bit (didn’t hit the brakes) Usually when this happens I keep control of the car and it doesn’t spin the rears. But this time the boost accelerated and took off, I got side ways and was near to hitting the center wall, thank god there weren’t any cars in the middle nor far lane, which is why I merged into the middle lane. After getting sideways and Close to hitting the wall, I heard a metal snapping noise. I though my rear hit the wall, I get home and find my wheel is the only one that is broken in half as pictures are shown. My Frame or bumper didn’t hit the wall at all, there’s no dents or hits. And I didn’t hit because I would have bounced off and my car would have been wrecked most likely. I never came to a compete stop on the freeway and kept driving. Went back to see if I left any damage on the wall or debre but all I saw were skid marks of my left rear wheel and when the boost kicked in. What makes me think the tire snapped the wheel is that I have 305 on the back but the width is 9.5, and people have not recommended I had that size since there is a bit more wall of the tire that surrounds the wheel. Was it possible my tire snapped the wheel under boost? My tire is completely fine and no tpms sensor went off and it hasn’t released air nor any holes in the tire. Anyone have a similar experience? I’ve done many pulls and I know the power of the car and know when to let off, I’ve never fully gassed it, especially with others around me. The pictures show my wheel and how it’s broken in half. Any ideas of how or why this happened?
