For those who are looking for bright garage lights at budget costs, but high quality - definitely hit these up on Amazon:

Product Name:
LED Deformable Light
80w
6,000 Lumens

My wife purchased these for me as a Bday gift a few weeks ago. The brand/type has tons of positive reviews. These simply screw into any existing light bulb sockets. The (3) outer winglets each contain the LEDs and also serves as a heat sink too - plus they are totally adjustable.

Many other vendors sell the exact similar lights but upwards of $90-$130 EACH....

These can be had on Amazon for as low as $25 and as high as $39 each, depending on seller. The manufacturer also has available a 10,000 lumen design.

At 6,000 lumens, I can say these are EXTREMELY BRIGHT - you’ll burn your eyeballs out if you look directly at them...

My garage ceiling is just under 14ft high and it only has the “builder grade” (2) standard bulb sockets. I have only installed one LED lamp so far and damn, these are waaaaaay, waaaaay, bright.... and perfect for detailing.

They will be perfect for dark basements or crawl spaces too.

Cheers!

Thanks for the tip! I think I'll pick one up and try it out.

One of the best things I did in my garage was install a motion activated light switch. So convenient to never have to fumble for a switch when you're carrying something. And now the lights are never accidentally left on.

Your post gave me an idea. I have bought an E27 60W garage light with 6000 lumens. It's cheap but works perfectly. I really love this deformable garage light.

I have 5 led strips mounted to ceiling, paid like 40 each. They are bad to the bone. Like, surgical operation bright.

Any pics of these? Where the light is installed and the amount of illumination below. My garage is not lit well and I need something like this.

Since I have a 22x22 garage and a another like 6 by 8-10 in the corner, I have 4 LED lights mounted in the main square area, one in each corner, and 1 in the back where I keep tools etc. I hard them all together above the attic.

Keep in mind, when my garage door is open, 2 of my lights are blocked. will find a photo of lights on with door closed for comparison. I am always moving vehicles around, lol I put a solar panel on my shed, so now I keep my mower in my shed on a solar powered trickle charger all winter,.

The newest photo with tv, above my 2 pedal bikes and 2 motorcycles and car in garage is my current set up.

Thanks! Right now my garage looks like your first picture. That's a huge improvement.
Did your lights come with chains to hang them? I have 10ft ceiling but my garage is not as wide.
Nice Ryobi collection. I am a fan of them too.

The ones I bought never had a chain, they was meant to be wired onto an switch. But I simply hard wired them all together in a chain as a single cycle. I got mien at lowes, im sure they have similar ones. Durability, mine are years old, like 5-6 years now. Not a single issue with a single one.

40 watts a piece, but so worth it. Maybe even better ones now. mine is a flush mount looking one, doesn't hang from a chain,. ,let me see if I can find photo of them directly. This is during day so isnt going to have the same effect. but you can see what they look like. 2 long tubes.

This is my winter car, lol. I store it in garage over summer and mustang over winter.

oh I think I mis understood, mine are screwed into the ceiling/studs. goes from inner body into ceiling, you cant see them.

So, I received my 8’ LED garage lights.
B9000091-4B65-4649-BEFC-0C24FA54E10A.jpeg

The box arrived from UPS intact and without damage.
Right off the bat I was dismayed with the “Made in China”, but I have no idea where else you could get 8’ LED lights for $119.

The overall quality was good. Wires are routed well. Paint is good all over the lights. Protective film on the lenses. I have no quarrels with fit-n-finish.

So, this is my garage with the subpar lighting, prior to the new LEDs (please disregard the crap... we’re still unboxing).

Using the “Light Meter” app for iPhones, I stood under each light and measured the lumens at chest level.

These were the best outputs I could get with the existing lighting.
These lights are super easy to install. They come with wire nuts, and anchors to secure the light to sheetrock as they’re fairly lightweight.
Wiring into the house wiring was super easy... back to black, white to white, green to ground. Once I was done, this is what I saw.

The difference was night and day. Using the same app, “Light Meter”, I again stood under each light, in the same spot as prior, and the unobstructed views yielded a significant difference in lumens gained.

As you can see, I tested the output twice and the average output across the two lamps was “294” lumens.
These lights made a significant difference in our garage. Later on, after we thoroughly unbox and I get my HEP R settled in, I plan to add two screw-in bulb housings towards the entrance from the street of the garage ceiling for the deformable LED lights as I plan to have a little more power. That will be determined after painting the walls white and covering the floor with a light gray epoxy/urea protection application.

It looks great drum. its worth it imo. 200 watts lights up your entire garage.

its amazing isnt it? you have 2x8 feet lights, I have 4x4 feet long tubes in my main area and another one in the rear corner.

I felt the same way when I hit the switch. it was like god just said LET THERE BE LIGHT. its almost blinding when I walk into garage when its closed and lights are off, and you hit that switch it is truly beautiful every time.

It really really helps for small detail stuff too, some things I will actually put in my garage to do, over regular sunlight. its just so much finger/detailed light. I dont lose screws and bolts anymore either. I can see everything.

I have race deck, in a glossy finish, that reflects light back up so I think I got a mirror type thing going on.

Something I recently did was change my garage door opening bulb to led white, it was yellow, now I dont even have to flip switches on when I open garage door, it illuminates a lot on its own and matches the led's now

Lol. You might need some snow shades. Yes, it’s a tremendous difference that is well worth the work and price.

I was thinking, if you could dyno lights, I just made significant gains with just a little currency loss. Lol.
