85% of your braking is front brakes, not necessary unless you want to wring that last bit of lap time out the car on the track maybe look at the gt350 conversion kit.Any idea on why Ford didn’t pony up for Brembos on the rear ? Are the ones on rear any good?
How is the pedal feel/initial bit with the Z26 pads, in comparison to the OEM pads?I had the z26 pads on my last mustang. I can't remember the last time I washed those wheels before I sold it! I just needed the extra stopping power and heat tolerance!
Maybe not apples to apples; I have the Z23s. The pedal feel and initial bite are much more predictable/linear than the OEM pads, with no apparent loss of stopping power, and zero brake dust. How is the pedal feel/initial bit with the Z26 pads, in comparison to the OEM pads?
I agree. Probably not the popular opinion but i kinda wish the initial bite was a bit less yet. I still find myself getting whip lashed if im not careful. If your worried swapping the pads will cause your braking to suck trust me, it wont.Maybe not apples to apples; I have the Z23s. The Z23/26 pads are like normal car brakes. Low initial bite and get better with pedal pressure then get to optimum temp and are very good, It is a short window in the OP zone, definitely street pads. I like high initial bite so am constantly arguing with myself on dust or no dust. How is the pedal feel/initial bit with the Z26 pads, in comparison to the OEM pads?
My last mustang was the v6 variant, so the stock pads were rather sloppy. Going to the Z26 pads the initial bite is consistent with the stock pads for the 4 pot GT brakes. So, for my application it was much better than stock. The bite is good when its cold and lasts pretty long into heavy use. But I do have to say those brakes don't give much warning when they give out. Its one minute they're working, the next you have no brakes heading down a mountain road, lol!How is the pedal feel/initial bit with the Z26 pads, in comparison to the OEM pads?
Man I feel that in my bones. The factory pads on the Brembo's dust like crazy. Like insane dust. And the PP wheels are next to impossible to keep clean, virtually no tool will fit between the caliper in to the barrel. Ugh. I upgraded to 20's and they are so much easier to clean..1. that is normal
2. these brakes are insanely awesome
3. if you got the black wheels you have my condolences cause they need to be cleaned like every 150 miles lol
that's why i love my forged wheelsMan I feel that in my bones. The factory pads on the Brembo's dust like crazy. Like insane dust. The only difference between the Z23s and Z26s is a backer plate for heat dissipation. I have Z23s on my wife's Acura MDX and Z26s on my GT350. The performance on the Acura from stock pads is outstanding. I used to get really annoyed having to drive her car... no more. How is the pedal feel/initial bit with the Z26 pads, in comparison to the OEM pads?
Yes! I had to use the incredible braking power a few weeks ago when the person in front of me realized our single lane of cars was stopping, saved me from losing my GT350 for sure! The GT350s and GT500s have them on the rears.... they have incredible braking power...but $$
