I will be changing brake pads and rotors sometime soon. I'm curious to what those with brembos are going to. I have some powerstops in my cart...what's the consensus on those.
I just read a post where the OP was running them...

I'm looking at the Powersrop Z23/Z26 Track or sport, front and rear replacement. Slotted and drilled rotors.

Currently I'm not able to hit track days but I hope to at some point, so in the meantime I find mountain roads near me.

Power stops are no better then any other drilled and slotted you see all over the internet, its just marketing. Get the same for less than half on ebay with Detroit Axle . Id actually say that they even stop better and moved from Power Stop to these on my GT as well as my F150

The power stops are loud and braking is average at best. I'll be replacing rotors again as soon as my pads wear out just to get rid of them.

OEM pads are great performance pads and the closest thing to a street/track pad you’ll find. Only downside is the dust.

As for rotors, drilled rotors crack and fail a lot sooner. Slotted or regular, avoid drilled. The only reason manufacturers sometimes still use them is because people who dont know are used to seeing them on sports cars. A long time ago they helped with outgassing but not with modern pads.

if you want a good pad which doesnt dust as much, thats of course understandable, but you could do a lot worse than the OEM Brembo pads.

Hard to beat OE. No sense switching rotors brand unless want to save then get proven white label like from Detroit Axel. For track just get cheapest solid rotors and proven pads swap out when go to track.

Mountain roads are the best!

Has anyone tried EBC rotors and pads? DBA rotors? Worked great on my vettes.

Get rid of those drilled rotors before going on a track

Having done extensive research myself on the forums I've found (this applies TO STREET USE) powerstop z26 pads are the best, no noise no dust (OEM pads have heavy dust) and z26 and z23 are the same compound the only change is metal backing plate on the z26. Initial bite with z26 aren't as sharp as OEM (OEM is like an on/off switch with the brakes) so you can use a little more brake pedal before it clamps up which makes shifting much easier but once you press down they stop noticeably better than the OEM pads do.

As for rotors, (again ignore this if it's meant for track use) I found alot of recommendations for the centric c tek rotors which are wonderful. They work the same if not a tiny bit better than stock but a rotor is a rotor. Drilled and slotted imo are more of a cosmetic thing since I see them cracking quite often online but also reducing braking surface. PP1 already had brake cooling vents under the front of the car to cool the inside of the rotors. Street use, you can't beat powerstop z26 pads unless you want something that is VERY noisy or extremely dusty. I like no dust and no noise and a lot of brake force. I run 275/40/19 and if I get in the brakes I can lock up the wheels which means the brakes outperform the tires so having something even stronger won't benefit me at all unless I upgrade tires aswell. If you can lock up the tires when warm and dry then the brakes are good enough and tires are the next step

Just my 2 cents. I'm not a professional but have a fair but if experience working on people's cars and modifying my own.

This may not be the best place for this but here goes. I am 66 years old and I am a third gen track whore. I have been using cross drilled rotors since the late 70's when I had to have them drilled by a machine shop. I have cracked a few sets, just as I have a solid and slotted sets. If you ride them hard and just park it they don't cool under the calipers as quickly as out where they can vent and cool. This is the same as any rotor. So unless you know from actual experience of premature failure, stop giving them a bad rap. Now as far as slotted. I have never had any issues with them and they seam to wear just like my cross drilled rotors. But then again I do understand how to cool down the brakes after a hard run no matter what I have on the car. Now from the track guys how many sets of slotted or solid rotors have you guys replaced because of cracks? They are a wear item that are going to wear out most of the time due to cracks

I currently just changed mine to the powerstop on the GT. I am running into issues with noise with them. I also have them on my R/T Charger and Hellcat Challenger, with no noise issues on the Mopars.

I run Powerstop Z26 pads matched with their drilled and slotted rotors for the street (purely for aesthetics).

However, on the track Iā€˜m currently running Ford OEM rotors with G-LOC pads (G16 front / G12 rear). I’ve heard good things about the Centric rotors for the track and might try them when I need to replace the Ford rotors.

PowerStop Z Carbon Fiber - Ceramic pads on my Brembo's have been perfect. Stop on a dime and no dust.. I am doing these again, plus they aren't expensive either.
