Hi
So I have the borla Stype catback with the x pipe and found it a little too loud for daily driving.
i decided to add the borla 60661 resonator and not too happy with the results.
car sound quieter than stock and it sounds wayyyy too muffled.

I have literally only had it on for 20 miles so I don’t know if I need to wait for it to get louder from using it more ?. Or I just sell it and get an H pipe made up with two bottle resonators ?.

thanks

Everybody I know who has ran that resonator had the same outcome.

Spent all day in the mustang with the resonator and you know what, I’m starting to like it.
The low rpm rumble is nice for sure but the best part is that I’m leaving the car in lower gears now where I would have changed gear to not sound like a ricer. I’m staying in 2nd gear now where I probably would have changed to 4th with a louder system.

Would there be a way of speeding up the bedding in process ?
maybe pour in lighter fluid and set it on fire ?.

my exhaust guy said he could open it up and remove some packing but it will likely rattle so maybe that’s not the way to go.

Did it get better over time ??

I never bought this. Its just that the folks who did buy it and posted on this forums said the same thing. That the car was just as quiet as stock.

It’s definitely slightly louder than stock on low rpm’s but the tone is much better with the s type mufflers. WoT it’s louder than stock but wayyy more quiet than the x pipe with the s type catback.

Wonder if this would help me cut down my sound. It's super loud now with LTH, catless, h-pipe and fill MBRP exhaust and the MBRP sealed out for Flowmaster Outlaws. My wife says to get rid of the car as it's way too loud.... Any it's disturbing the neighbors every morning I leave for work (645am).

I thought about putting in the stock resonator but not sure if that works anything down much. Would this Borla resonator help? I prefer lower volume at the low rpm.... And you get rid of the in cabin drone.

Stock resonator would definitely make it more livable especially with the cold starts.

Are you running catless? What exhaust do you have?

Mine has a terrible drone inside the cabin. I just want to quiet down during cold start and low rpm (like when I drive in my neighborhood) and try to get rid of the drone during cruising on the freeway. Don't mind if it gets loud at WOT because I'm out of my neighborhood by then.

Borla S type catback.
Absolutely zero drone on these things.
just ordered a 3 inch Remus H pipe which will fit the Stype catback.
resonator is too quiet for me.
selling if anyone is interested…

Going to try an H pipe. Found a 3 inch pipe online. Will need cutting down but should fit well.

You can have the tuner modify the cold start since you're catless. My child start idle is between 1000-1200. Downside is that it takes a little longer to warm up.
