Hi
just wondered if any out there added the Borla resonator to an Stype cat back without headers and otherwise stock ?.

want to tone down a little the sound of the Stype and worried the resonator will kill all the noise and it sounding stock again?.

Well, i have the s-type axleback which keeps the oem resonator. It's still very loud at full throttle. If you have the windows down it can make your ears ring.

Cheers ok
I’m guessing with the resonator it’s gonna sound deeper and not lose too much noise.

I think the resonator does a lot to tame the natural flatulence these engines seem to emit out the exhaust pipe. Smoother tone.

Yeh that’s what I’m looking although louder than stock.
I like the stype, it sounds amazing but just want to tone it down a little. The borla 60661 h pipe seems like a good idea ??

When you add the 60661 to an S type Cat Back, you essentially turn it into a "Touring" system. Search sound clips for a Touring system and you will get the right idea. I added the resonator to mine cause I added headers and it made a HUGE difference...

Difference for the better ?
It can’t be any quieter than stock though it’s less than half the size of the stock suitcase.

So on my old 2017 GT, I had a Ford Performance by Borla active exhaust on it. It had two modes, valves closed or valves open. When I first bought it, I installed a Borla resonator in place of the x pipe. With the valves closed, it was much quieter than stock. With the valves open, it was a little louder the stock, but still to quiet for me. I ended up removing the resonator and putting the x pipe in within 500 miles. With the x pipe, valves closed was a little louder the stock, valves open it was loud, but I didn’t think it was obnoxious . That being said, it did sound good with the resonator, nice deep tone, just wasn’t that much louder the stock. The resonator does quiet it down quite a bit.

Well with headers my S type with x pipe was WAY too loud. The Borla resonator toned it down a LOT. I would say it will still sound good, but it will be much quieter than the X pipe... But the tone is nice compared to stock... I did have a touring system on my Gen 3 Coyote F150 (apples to oranges I know) and it was BARELY louder than stock, but the tone was much better...

No way. I wouldn’t worry about that. It’ll be a lot louder than stock at full throttle. Just tooling around town it’ll be similar but still louder

Yes it will bolt right to the stock exhaust amd tone it down but it will be louder than stock. Gives the stype a nice deep muscle car tone. It was my favorite set up I ran on s550.
