Boost by Gear with OEM Logic

What you describe is how I have my boost controller set up on my Hellion TT kit: 600, 700, 800 with a push of a button after gear changes. It's a big reason I went TT. The forward button toggles to the next set point, while the aft button returns to the low boost setting.

The new E-boost3 is going to have some cool features for turbo cars. Boost by… gear , rpm , time and ethanol content. Pretty interesting once they release it and videos start to appear of it in action.

The best feature of the eboost3 is the fact that it works with the black box, and it has a twist to increase or decrease boost bezel.


There is another controller that works off of canbus that can do all of this. But you can also program fail-safes into the boost controller for over boost conditions or lean conditions without extra modules. They haven't released it yet I have literally been waiting for 2+ years for it to drop.

The factory pcm can do all of that, which is how mine are set up. I just don’t know how well it would work throttle control with a non-0 TIP.

That one is a bit more basic, but for the price point and what people would be doing with it (drag or street) it will work fine. The Plex unit is more robust. You can program it based on whatever it can see in the CAN. That means boost by gear or speed or whatever. It also can do boost by corner since it has GPS. I have to read it again but I think that is done in the software It also is about 3 times more expensive than the kaisen unit too. It can handle external EGT, as a failsafe as well.

Gotcha. The kaizen unit can be programmed to do what you want based on CAN data.
