For all you guys looking at installing this shifter coupled with aftermarket bushings, brackets, etc. Just be aware that you are going to get some annoying NVH from your shifter. I just switched from a Steeda STS, Steeda trans bushing, and Steeda shifter bushing bracket to only an MGW and my car got much quieter. The bushings add a lot of unnecessary NVH.

For those guys doing the blowfish bracket combo plz give some feedback because this is the setup that I would like to go with. But also looking for any feedback from you other guys using bushings/brackets. I also don't mind some NVH. Or at least I don't think I do:shrug:

I'll be installing mine with the Steeda billet trans bushing and Steeda trans mount bushing that I've had waiting. I'll let you know what I think of the firmness vs NVH. Really like the Blowfish bracket, but had to give Steeda's stuff the first shot. All of their stuff has been great.

Installed my short throw shifter today during lunch. Here are my immediate impressions from my short 10 minute drive to work.
--I broke the plastic chrome ring around the shift boot. I was pulling up and wiggling and it detached from the ring that clips into the console. I will have to plastic weld it back on. Not the end of the world, but be careful.
--Much much much shorter than the stock shifter. When I have my hand on the shift knob and I pull it back into 2/4/6 the heel of my hand is rubbing up against the center console. Yes, it's a more natural arm angle but the rubbing may bother me, we'll see.
--The knob is VERY close to the chrome shit boot surround when in 2/4/6. Very very close. Almost so close and short that you can't get your hand behind it. Another inch or two shorter and it would have been trouble, but it's just long enough for it to work.
--The reverse lockout is much stiffer than stock. Takes a lot more effort, and because the shifter is deeper in the console it's a little more awkward to pull it up. It also makes more noise when going up and down compared to stock, but not a big deal.
--Makes an audible "click" when you hit the stops all the way to the left when pushing into first or second. I can't recall if the stock shifter did this.
--Looks very very good. I like the black reverse lockout sleeve compared to stock. The lower look is cooler too.
--Throw is noticeably shorter. Obviously doesn't do anything for notchiness or slop, except for the fact that you shift slightly faster so there is less time for play to affect your shift.
Overall I think it was a good purchase. I don't plan on getting a blowfish bracket or MGW, so this was a happy medium. Be careful when pulling the chrome ring out so you don't break it like I did. Also, if you think a super low shift knob won't work for you, maybe don't buy this because it is VERY VERY short.

I am a little concerned about it being too short for power shifting. I've had some short shifters in the past that were comfortable and short for daily driving but when banging gears hard, it just felt like I couldn't get good leverage. I had to swap to a longer Piston Knob.

Got mine today but what a pain in the ass I can't get my custom cjpp shift knob that I blue loctited off even with a hair dryer. Gonna keep trying

Installed my new shifter today. No problems encountered at all. This shifter is short but I like it. So far I have had no problems with it being short. Got sideways shifting into second and no issues at all. Like the look as well. Expecting the Blowfish bracket later in the week but so far I have not encountered any issues shifting. Seems smoother than the stock shifter but that may be because of the reduced throw. All in all I am very satisfied. Also sent the tool back today so someone else can change theirs out.

Just installed mine...was super easy. Tightening the hex screws in that tight area is a little time consuming. I didn't have time to get out and drive it, but a quick few rows through the gears in the garage it feels great with the steeda shifter bracket. I'll post a review tomorrow after driving it.

Remember to include the packing slip for the tool when returning it to Boomba. I noticed mine sitting on the counter just now after having sent the tool back already. Hope they notice the return address on the package to credit my account for the return of the tool!

Install was simple and straight forward only problem is this gap between the stock knob and shifter. The gap was bigger but I tightened the living crap out of it. For a second I thought it was going to come through the silver piece lol. There is a little more effort when shifting and a small noise when sliding the shifter collar while going into reverse. Of course I don't mind n e of that. But besides the gab I am really enjoying this shifter so far.
