Geez that's terrible. I'm already losing faith in Ford and if mine was that bad, I'd probably return the lemon and go out and buy something else...and I'm a Mustang fanboy too...but I don't put up with crap like this. I just really want my trunk fixed and I'd be happy.

I see you got a 50th AP, so I can see why you'd want a 2015 replacement, but if I were you I'd consider the fact that you get Sync 3 with the 2016s. I really hate the MFT system, and Sync3 is supposed to be world's better. Just my $0.02!
I don't have any problems with the current version of Sync. I wouldn't trade the 50th AP for Sync 3. I also don't want to wait until late August for the 2016. Plus the Pony Package won't be available until later in the year so I would have to give up too much.

As much as I am turned off to Ford right now there isn't anything else I want to drive. For anything else with similar specs it would be $20k more, except the Genesis coupe but I don't think I could live with a Hyundai.

I am in the same situation as you but I am too nice I think. My car is the third time in the shop and I couldn't even talk to the engineer. There was none! It sickens me to the heart to read things like that and see it in front of my garage. Maybe we should switch case numbers and VIN# if someone likes to open a law suit against FORD.
The foreman never did see so a crooked car like my car he said. He also mentioned that he doesn't know where to start to get it right.

All panels have "waves" on the edges, doors, lids etc. . There is not one perfect straight edge on my car. The foreman mentioned that FORD stamps their own panels and they had to send back the trunk lid what should replace the one on my car because they don't like to use it at all. Makes me wonder where Ford is getting the machines from. USA?
Yes, my panels are creased and waving also with horrible looking edges.

Is Ford keeping all of this a secret? why hasn't anyone from Ford commented on all of these quality control issues and what they plan to do to correct the problem ?? I don't even think Ford Customer Care has ever commented on this as well ??

Ford Service is fully aware of these issues. I have like others the direct line of my CSM. Every dealership knows most likely about it. But Ford IMO is playing the low ball. If only 1% complain that's fine with them. If more would complain than they would have a bigger problem. From the start my dealer knows about. I'm not the only customer in Edmonton who brings in the car on a regular basis for those issues. :gossip:

At least you have the direct line with CSM. I had called to CSM so many times but NEITHER (0, null, zero :) )of my calls been answered or returned.

My head is going to explode from this thread. I'm going through all the same crap as you guys, just not on panel alignment. I can't believe a global company can have customer service this bad in 2015! :frusty:

Everyone should report these posts to the local media. Maybe Ford has to sit on a couple unsold 2015 Mustangs.

Sidenote

....Mustangs are very different. Mustangs sell themselves because there is a hard-core, loyal fan base who will buy them no matter what. These customers are in effect "taken for granted" by Ford. Not much has to be done to earn their custom and in any case, for most of them, the performance/price ratio outweighs all other considerations. For these reasons, when Ford is deciding how to spend their budget for the new Mustang, they go for performance and styling and try to minimize the cost. They could have overhauled the factory to have tighter tolerances but they obviously decided this didn't make business sense for the Mustang. It would have likely meant a significant increase in the new Mustangs sticker price and that was deemed unacceptable. This mentality is the same reason the Mustang had a solid rear axle until 2014!

This generation was supposed to be different though. Because for the first time, Ford is selling these cars in markets like Europe where customers pay a lot more attention to quality issues like how well panels are aligned. It will be very interesting to see what happens.
THIS quote above is outstanding. I truly think that FORD did not intend to "drop the ball" on panel alignments. When the 2016 models arrive, enthusiasts can observe if all the panels, and rear windows were corrected, and they can observe if the trunk lid and rear fascia things are fixed. If someone "fixed it" at the factory, then this was a factory error all along. Now, if they DO NOT fix this...and the 2016 models STILL have all kinds of panels not in alignment or at least improved...THAT will mean everything davidw said above still APPLIES even if there is a chance to fix the issue for the 2016. That will speak VOLUMES if the 2016 models still have the same panel issues. I have not had time, but I do plan to visit some dealers to examine some 2015s first hand. I saw one today in front of me on my way to work. THESE cars look good. They get attention. The non enthusiast doesn't know about the panel issue.

I was one of the early ones (10/31), and all I had issues with was the drivers side tail light adjustment. I guess I got lucky?

If I was a Ford executive I'd do everything possible to make sure all of these body panel alignment issues were corrected prior to the launch of the 2016 model year builds. But I am not, so these issues will probably remain status quo....which is really sad and frustrating !! :(

2 Dealers and 11 Mustangs look overs later...

2 dealers and 11 Mustangs.

I didn't take any pics but I had the photos from here and the web that were examples of alignment issues on my phone so looked for the same issues.

I found 1 that had the roof stop light on the roof that looked like the photo we seen where the drivers side of it looks slanted or somehow larger, not good.

2 of them had hood/fender alignment problems with either being higher or lower and not even across as most new cars. Seemed like the hood from my view. This may be easily adjusted to look better.

5 of them had this trunk alignment thing where one side gave the impression that the trunk was open while the other side was much closer in alignment.

The thing that kind of blew me away was when I looked, at both dealerships, at the other Ford Products with the same search for gaps and alignments, they were all better than the Mustangs fit.

None of the other models on the lots had gaps as large or as misaligned as the Ford Mustang.

Thanks!
Same things I always see when I bring in my Mustang for the body shop. Driving around in one of Fords loaner cars, visiting Ford dealers to see the same issues on Mustangs but close to none on Focus and Fusions.

I just saw a Ford Fusion on the highway with the same brake light issue as the GT. Except the misalignment was reversed - narrow angle on the left that got wider on the right.

This appears to be more than just a Mustang issue.

My dealers body shop called. After they said the same I always say, that the car is crooked, my CSM asked now to put it on a frame stand to measure the car out. Means they keep it for a couple days more...... The saga continues.
