I am planning a full (lengthy) detailed inspection on my DIB V6 convertible before signing and paying for it. I plan to ask for an extended test drive as well to check for rattles, wind noise, 50-70 MPH drive shaft vibration, etc. I will probably bring a print out (in separate sections), of the posts here on the various issues that others have reported. That way if I find issue 'A', I can hand them that section detailing that it is has been a reported issue and it's details. My hope would be that it would at least make it harder for them to wave the issue aside as easily, maybe feigning ignorance (or at least require them to create a different 'story') and I'd get a better sense of their level of helpfulness or obfuscation before 'I own' any problems! These stories have convinced me more and more that my original decision to spend hours not minutes inspecting my delivered cars is correct. And that I will wait for the dealership to fix any problems I find before I pay for the convertible. I want to drive my car, not fight with Ford to fix problems that should have been fixed at Flat Rock.
I have been keeping a rough list of issues, but I think it would actually be very helpful if we had a thread specifically just to document known issues. Also noting which issues have been addressed and fixed and those who have been through the ringer and been told issues are normal.
I am going to compose this thread right now. It will be up soon.
