Hello again.
I looked up the dealers website and found some pictures and only showing the one from the hood touching the fender. If you see it in front of the car you think: Wow! It passed the factory QC and the dealers PDI (if they make one what I doubt).

The hood up against the bumper makes the creases line-up. Very good! You could probably push-down the fender corner a tad for better edge alignment with the hood.

My ecoboost has the same issue. Drivers door is sunk in a lil bit. And my passenger door needs to be adjusted cause the window catches the trim cause a clunk sound when opening the door.
When they attempted to fix mine all they did was bring the top out but then the bottom stuck out pretty far body shop said well that one over there is the same way pissed me off so I called sales manger they compared it to another one and I ended up getting a new one but he did tell me Ford didn't care one bit

I e mailed Mark Fields pictures of my car, my experience with CSR, Ford's lying engineers, and links to this thread, rear window thread, and the thread in the LE section with poor panel alignment.

Now that we have a bit warmer weather, I made some pictures I am dealing with my dealer. Right corner of the trunk lit is "missing" some metal and is deformed. If someone dropped it on the floor before it was installed?

It doesn't fit my right rear quarter panel at all.

I asked to please fit my doors and hood I got this back with the comment: "That's the best we can do...." :faint:

The hood is fitting on the sides perfect but the front is somehow bend. Left front corner is so high that I can slide a ruler in without touching it. Bumper is fine aligned to the fenders now.

Doors instead sticking not out anymore there are now to deep. They have to fix that too.

The rubber seal on the driver door has to be replaced later.

Window sticker price? $43,600 Quality estimate? $15,000 IMO
Sorry! I know. I should have bought a Japanese car.

The more I see, the sicker I get, When (or IF) I ever get to pick this car up again, I will go over it with the Service manager to ensure its all up to snuff. I could give two craps about standards and whats acceptable. If I was GIVEN the car I would still expect a level of quality matching the price tag. For the love of god, I can get a BMW for less, and those people are CONSUMED with quality.

So, on a side note, my wife 2015 Fusion titanium has a few new problems. When you press the button to talk to the car, it mutes the audio, waits a second or two and then the audio comes back. BUT WAIT, as if thats not good enough, today driving it home the dash "Rebooted" both screens in the cluster went white and all lights were on.

Hello, Ford? As a consumer who buys your vehicles RELIGIOUSLY, I think I deserve better.

My headlight is out of place so bad, I noticed it at night because the headlamp was pointing straight down, thought it was a alignment issue but I see a nice long big scratch on my headlight, someone hit me. If only I knew who :(

There are trolls all over this Forum, at the present time, insinuating that we should appreciate what Ford is throwing at us. I have had an extra month of waiting for shipment that has let me appreciate just what a poor job Flat Rock has done on production and Quality Control. I pity the dealerships who have had to take all the flak from new owners who have paid a premium price for an "D" quality car.

Thats why I got CO instead of TY

Some are trolls, but most are just fanboys. I love the 2015 Mustang (overall design), but the build quality is horrible. It's completely unacceptable, and Ford should be helping us... That hasn't been the case for some of us though. This next Wednesday, it'll be my 4th appointment at a different dealer (3rd)... My patience is running out with all the issues that I have. I'm going to go all out in 1-2 weeks if I don't get my BRAND NEW car fixed (Lemon Law, Twitter, Facebook, maybe Local News, etc)
I didn't want a lemon, but I guess they come in all colors.

I will say this, I LOVE my car, but the quality and other issues that seem to plague the product have gotten me so upset about a stupid car, its effecting my overall mood. I paid for a $49,885 car and have nothing but frustration.

My dealer is decent, they have been helping me, I haven't yelled or raised my voice because that gets you no where. The ford Rep has also been OK, not getting the warm and fuzzy from him, but its part of his game I guess.

The issue is not ME being hyper critical, its the overall quality of this car.

I just counted how many fords I purchased, for me, my wife and the companies I owned. I bought 29 ford cars and trucks since 1985. I wrote a letter to Mark Fields, Ford CEO ( [email protected] ) because I felt he should know what were going through, I urge you all with issues to do the same. Its a gorgeous car, fast, comfortable (From what I remember) and its really something special. Its just not built to the quality standards we deserve.

I, however asked for what I want, I didn't leave it open for the company to determine what they should do. Now with issues on my wife's Fusion, truly, something has to give.

I will report my story as I (and we all) have done here. I will not report on anything damaging and keep this all a clean fight. If ford does what I asked, I will simply state they did the right thing. If they don't, I won't say what I asked for, merely that they failed to fulfill my reasonable(ish) requests to make a long time loyal customer feel as though they matter.

Keep the info flowing folks, its important that if there are issues, they know about them.

Thanks to you all, and for those who have their cars, enjoy, for those waiting, I hope they come soon and they meet your expectations for quality.

Lets hope the issues were initial quality and they get passed it quickly.

Trunk's slight misalignment: Gap is bigger on the passanger side.

Here's mine, looks similar.

Looking at the right corner of your trunk lid, it looks like the one I have. Would be interesting to see the edge with a ruler if the trunk lids are poor quality. (Not a straight edge like on the left edge) BTW my trunk lid looks identical to yours.

This is within the tolerances. Even the GT350 show cars have the similar left side low, right side high tilt, although to a lesser degree. I have been experimenting with shimming the mounts for the mechanism and where the mechanism attaches to the trunk lid. It's looking much better, but the cutouts over the tail lights are designed-in. They need to have metal added. I may try to have some small tabs welded and will then have to repaint the trunk lid. The only other alternative would be for Ford to redo the quarter panels over the tail lights so they match the trunk lid.

My feeling is, they will eventually take the cheaper route and redo the trunk lid. Once they do that, they will have to remold the plastic panel on the trunk lid so that it lines up with the top of the tail lights. If they redo the trunk lld, they will also have to compensate for the left side quarter panel/roof/rear window glass drop in the the trunk lid redesign, or alter the trunk lid mounts and attach points to account for the misalignments. They will need rectangular, variable thickness tapered shims to take the load off the attach points.

They need to do the same thing with the doors, so they can be not just moved in and out, but rotated around the hinges to make the doors and window align with the jambs and quarter windows.

They will also have to come-up with a fool-proof structural rear window shim.

Be real...:frusty::frusty:

Why make a comment like that? This forum is a very helpful one that has a ton of members that assist folks with many issues, recommendations, constructive feedback, etc.

Yes, some folks are having issues and others are having far more significant issues with newly purchased car but on the other hand, none of us are having any issues. I went over my new car with a fine tooth comb before I signed the paper work and took delivery. My sales person did the same for me before I flew into town to hand over the money and take my new car home, 900 miles away.

Sorry! I am not willing to start redesigning my brand new Mustang because I am a customer and not excepting a poor designed trunk lid nor should any customer except this. As far I do now, Ford knows about some of the issues. If anyone must start welding on my car, they can give me my money back or give me a different car. My sons 2012 Focus looks much nicer than my Mustang.

He has an LE and that cannot be replaced so he's doing what he has to do for his car.
