I guess a Tremec and the associated extended costs are out of the question???

Have you driven a car with the stage 1 MT82?

Yeah definitely. $3500 all in + the extra stuff needed to make it work just wasn't in the cards. Haven't driven the Stage 1 but I know it fixes the low quality stuff inside the trans (shift fork pads, rail stops, and upgrades the syncro rings to carbon ones). Planning on Exedy twin plate organic clutch to go with it to make it "bulletproof" for my usage & HP.

Have you done a stainless clutch line. I installed the Ford Racing line and it improves clutch feel/consistency greatly.

Any thought to a lighter weight flywheel??

Yeah I was looking at that or a braided one while I'm in there. Ford Racing one is pricey. The Exedy I'm getting comes with a lightened steel flywheel.

The Ford line is nice as it has the formed hard line portion, fit is perfect. But, yeah it is pricey. Check ebay, once in awhile Rod Baker Ford In Plainfield lists them with a pretty good discount.

I feel like the gear ratios are slightly less desirable in a gt350 tremec as well.

With my short track tires (305/30R19 @ 26.2") they would be pretty good actually, but there's just so much more involved that I have zero interest in, particularly when an MT82 with the cheap parts replaced and a good clutch will be all I'll really ever need.

Sorry to hear about the trans Brian. Who is doing it? Calimer?

I had the same experience with the plugs, my gap was wayyy off on all plugs even at 50k miles... once I saw that I started changing them out every year as a maintenance item. Bummer about the trans... any thoughts as to why second gear may have gone out? Wear and tear? or some other cause? Sounds like the rebuilt trans will be a lot more solid with the upgrades.

Will you be getting a 2018-2020 MT-82 with the different ratios?

Or sticking with the 2015-2017 MT82 ratios?

15-17 MT82. I may eventually change to 3.55 rear gears, but for now I'll work on using third occasionally on course. I talked to Sam Strano about that a bit last night and he gave me some wisdom.
