I'm going to to the blowfish bracket, the steeda bushing kit,and the whiteline mount. I'm hoping all this will help make everything smooth. Additionally I'm going to change the clutch line to the steeda stainless steel one

Just curious as to why you guys haven't considered(and bought) the MGW RACE SPEC shifter?? I've had the BF bracket AND the MGW and there is absolutely no comparison what so ever. The MGW is worth every dollar.

Jus sayin

I was thinking of the BF bracket first and later upgrade to MGW .
When I finally added the BF to the none race MGW in my 12 it was a huge difference .i know you can't combine both in the 15.
Also I don't think there is a drive shaft loop that will work with the MGW as of now but I may be wrong (BMR may be working on one).
You get a drive shaft loop with the BF all for $ 250.
I may be able to sell it once there is drive shaft loop that works with the MGW

I haven't bought the mgw because it's 500 bucks. The stock shifter isn't horrible, it just needed some stiffening. The bf bracket did exactly what I needed it to do. I'm sure the mgw great but I personally would rather spend the 250 I saved and put it towards headers or another mod. The bf bracket works great, and in all honesty, I don't race as much as I use to and I'm not slamming gears at the strip much either. The bf bracket does what I need. If I want reduction of throw I can get the steeda shift arm or ford's when someone sells it second market or prices go down a bit. Just my person reasoning why I went the way I did.

Cost, installation brain damage and warranty (really easy to put things back to stock if needed). No doubt the MGW is a work of art and a terrific solution.

The BF bracket is 90% of the benifit for 50% of the cost.

The MGW Race Spec is not just for "slamming gears", it takes the crappy OEM shifter box(and yes its a POS) and lack luster MT-82 to a whole new level. Well worth the $500 premium...like comparing a lemon to an apple...................IMO since I've owned both. Your car, your money.

No disagreement here. What I'm saying is I don't need a 'race spec' shifter when the bracket makes the shifter and transmission enjoyable to drive. As someone put it, at half the price it is doing 90% of the work. I just don't wanna spend the extra cash for something I feel I don't need. All testimonials have been positive for the mgw. It's an amazing shifter no doubt, it's just really expensive.

I fully understand and do respect and appreciate your reply.

I also understand this is a "Blowfish" related thread and I'm not trolling or starting trouble, I just wanted to inform that there is another viable option available and share my experience.

Do you have a drive shaft loop with your MGW?

I traded the car for a '15 with an Auto(LOL) but I understand your rational regarding the drive shaft loop in a shifter bracket.

I was more referencing those that buy the bracket, then throw money at the whiteline bushing, more money on a Barton shifter (or comparable). The MGW Race Spec was all that and a box of chocolates. Seriously.

I have steeda bushing and blowfish and the two go together like peanut butter and jelly. The steeda/whiteline bushing will add NVH but I honestly like the added feel

Im probably going to add a barton or steeda tri-ax to the setup soon

I also adjusted my blow fish out of curiosity the other day. I lowered the top bracket a bit to lower the shifter some and shifting felt smoother but I did notice some added heat as the shifter base was no longer making full contacting with the underside of the body. It doesn't bother me though, id rather have added heat in exchange more smoothness. The point is that you have some adjustment here, pushing up too far or not to far enough will cause the shift linkage to be at a slightly different angle than it was stock

I installed my Blowfish bracket tonight and couldn't be happier. I have a stock shifter, Steeda bushing with the center section removed, and a 2-1/8" shifter knob. I experience a slight vibration in the knob, but it's not objectionable. The trade off for getting better shifts is hands down worth it to me. No added noise that I can hear. This is how the Mustang should have been equipped from the factory. I can really row through the gears smoothly now. It feels like the shifter is mounted in a block of granite. It's kind of a pain to install but the results are worth it.

I had considered trying an aftermarket shifter but now do not see a need for one unless I wanted to shorten throws. Ford Racing has a retrofit kit for that and is compatible with the BF bracket.

Do I take it then from these comments, that most of you are quite satisfied with the Blowfish bracket alone and aren't planning to change the shifter as well?
