Hello yall can I get some input on what lowering springs work best for a Base 19 GT. Ive considered the Ford performance lowering springs and steeda sport progressives. Ive read on here about possibly needing rear camber plates? Any information is welcomed. So far Im okay with how soft the ride is while having 20x10 & 20x11 wheels. Only suspension mods are steeda vertical links, steeda rear cradle brace, ford performance strut bar and crowl brace. Just looking for a small drop, while possibly increasing the suspension performance. Thanks

I went with the Ford street springs on my base 22 since it didn't require changing out the shocks or anything else and it's my daily driver. No difference in noise/harshness. It's advertised 1" but it seems a little less than that, also I'm on 19s so it should look better with your 20s

Thanks for the input. Those might be the safer option. Did you have to cut the bumps tops?

Just do the track springs and track shock package and call it a day. Front does drop about an inch, the rear less ~3/4 inches

Best ? You need to know the metallurgy and how it was formed. Something that ALL manufactures are extremely vague about.

Very true. Kinda leaning towards the Ford performance springs. They have a slight drop, and claims *it works with the stock struts*. I live near summit racing, they have them in stock too so I could pick them up tomorrow

Yuck, change out the stock struts. Might as well while you're in there.

Don't really have an issue with how it drives, I'd like to keep it similar without spending more than I have too. Most action my car has seen was the tail of the dragon in Tennessee and it felt pretty decent on that.

Ford Performance Street springs or the Steeda minimum drop if you don’t want to change out the dampers

Thanks! Any tips for doing the rears? The fronts seem easy to do.

I’ve not actually done a spring install on S550, so others that have can chime in on tips. CJ Pony Parts has a couple good YouTube videos on spring installs though. Bill has some good info in those videos

I installed Steeda sport progressives on my 2020 base GT about a year and half ago. I used the original stock struts(35k miles at the time), but i would go new if i did it again. Ride quality is awesome, especially with swapping out the front and rear sway bars. For the alignment, I didn't need anything in the rear, but did install camber bolts in the front.

I used this chart to help figure out the direction I wanted to go.

If you upgrade the springs trust me do the shocks as well.

I have a base 2016 GT, and I found great success with the BMR Handling springs SP083. I paired them with Ford performance track shocks, a Steeda IRS alignment kit, and Steeda camber plates. If you're considering lowering your car and want to maximize your suspension performance, I highly recommend investing in camber plates along with new shocks. This combination can really enhance your driving experience.
