Another option to the K&N is the AFE dry filter. You can't service it but it last longer and is "supposed" to flow better.
I'm like you though, I run a K&N because I know the factory filters are garbage and as long as you service the oiled filter correctly it's going to last you forever.

Yeah have not seen any hard data on the aFe filter flow rates to say either way. I actually believe the stock air filter flows really well. Just cant clean it and its expensive right now.

I went with Airaid intake as it doesn't require a tune and draws outside air.
Getting headers installed in a couple of weeks so it will be time for a tune to tie it all together.
