They will really be about the same. JLT has a long history of making systems that provide a big increase. So does steeda and from what I've read they work closely with ford engineers to design stuff.

But really neither matter these days as ford designed the stock air box so well cai are nothing more than expensive eye candy. At most around 5 or 10 hp. A tune is what provides all the HP these days.

I would say just drop in a K&N but from what I've read I'm not convinced they don't actually restrict the stock system. For what it's worth I have one installed and it didn't make a damn bit of difference except I can clean it.

The ONLY way you're going to see decent gains is with a bigger throttle body and/or a GT350 intake. Which will allow for greater flow the stock box was not designed for.

But then what you paid 800-1800 for 20rwhp? Is that worth it to you? Might as well continue to save and get a blower. It's crazy but that is where we are in today's market with these high output engines. Where really the best option for the price to output ratio is go straight to a blower.

+1. Gonna keep the Ford air box, put in a better flowing filter and install a tune along with the Magnaflow Catback that the big brown truck dropped off yesterday.

Strap a Trane A/C unit to the grill. You'll get lower intake temperatures like you wouldn't believe.

Another option to the K&N is the AFE dry filter. You can't service it but it last longer and is "supposed" to flow better.
I'm like you though, I run a K&N because I know the factory filters are garbage and as long as you service the oiled filter correctly it's going to last you forever.

You'll need upgraded brakes though, it's hard to stop a Trane... :headbonk:
