Is there a battery tender that plugs into the cigarette lighter to charge the vehicle available for my 2023 Mach 1 or do I have to hardwire using the hookups available like with the Ford Performance tender?

I don't know if that will connect to the FP branded tender, but it will connect to the battery tender brand tender. I have a actual battery tender that has the same type of plug on the output wires so I know it will fit them, but I have no experience with the FP tenders.

Yea, I was looking at the connectors on the FP tender and I do not think it will work. I will look at your suggestion.

Can you list the part number for your tender?

This is the one I have but they don't have them anymore. But all battery tender branded ones have the same plug.

BTW I've had mine since 17 and used it for 6 winters on my 17 vert and when I traded it for the mach 1 it still had the original battery. I just used the ring terminals and put them directly on the battery itself, works just fine.

I emailed them and this what they suggested to use : https://www.batterytender.com/3amp-selectable-voltage

I just want to keep mine charged, I can drive year round. My battery likes to stay at 12.0V and sometimes lower and ford does not think anything is wrong so I would like to make sure my car can start.

I can drive year round, but I choose not to. Growing up in the rust belt and still living here, I've seen first hand what road salt will do to a car and I paid a lot of money for this toy, I'd like to keep it pristine as long as possible.

Do we have to keep the car on acc mode or can the car be off?

There is a thread on installing the tender pigtail. Positive at the fuse box and negative on the strut tower. I just use this one. CTEK I have is not getting used any more as the battery goes into saver mode and I cannot update Ford Pass.

I just leave the car off. Also you might want to consider going to the battery directly. Going thru the lighter socket, it shuts down after x amount of time when the car is off and it will disconnect from the tender. You can hook it up to the fuse block and let the BMS module monitor and control things or just go direct to the battery like I did. Like I said earlier, it was like that for 6 years on my old 17 vert and I never had an issue with the battery, in fact when I traded it in it still had the original factory battery after 6.5 years.

I asked Ford Performance if this can be used on my car since it states 2005-2021 Mustang and they said no. Is there some major electrical/battery change between 21 and 22-23?
