Best battery tender for storage

im looking to buy a battery tender for both mustangs i have during the winter months of storage. the battery in the boss has already expired and in need of a new one. i want to be prepared for next season so any recommendations on which brand/model performs best? it will be shared between the two but mostly on the boss since i really dont drive that one at all in the winter.

throw me some comments....

I am not sure if it is the best, but I hooked this up to my GT back in November and just took it off today for the first drive of the year. She fired right up!

I used the quick disconnect attachment instead of the clamps. Easy plug and play from here on out. Good Luck!

I always get the DelTran Battery Tenders. I have a couple of them for things around the house, car, generator, mower.

The Junior is plenty. The Mustang does not drain much current when parked so the Junior has enough current to keep the battery topped up.

Whatever brand you buy make sure it's an automatic on and off. You need a charger that shuts off when the battery is charged. Even a one or two amp charger will cook the battery to death over time if it doesn't shut down.

Get a name brand, not a Harbor Freight one.

I use a Schumacher. With all the equipment around here with batteries in it that charger works all the time. Even when I ran it over with the 60" mower deck and bent it all up, it still works.

I bought and used a Deltran Battery Tender Plus. It appears to have been working properly all winter. I'll be putting the Mustang on the road tomorrow morning.

6v? 12v? Does it matter?
Also if I disconnect the battery do I still need the battery tender or would it be ok?
