You want the the battery tender leads on the nuts that hold the main battery cables ... not the nuts that squeeze the clamps, because they are not a direct battery connection.

that's what I was thinking too... The negative has a good access but there isn't one on the positive. I hooked it up to the squeeze clamps and I think its working

I could never get a solid battery voltage reading when using the squeeze clamp nuts. So I concluded they are not a very direct connection to the battery posts.

What about the other end of the positive cable? Not sure where it goes.

See how the negative has that little nut that connects to the clamp? The positive doesn't. I guess I could use the clamps it came with but I wont be able to close the hood :(

Love the Battery Tender. Starting using them on motorcyles 25 years ago and now using them on my stored vehicles. Connect it directly to the battery terminals. Label the terminals polarity if needed.

Being that the positive side only has that squeeze nut, I put my battery tender on that over a month ago and it's charging fine for me. I checked it with a multi-meter and it was showing a good connection. No problems so far.

I made a post about my experience, ignore the dirty engine bay :)

The nut wont unscrew all the way I tried.
The only place I think would fit ring terminals are the positive post in the fuse box and one of the body ground point close to it.

I got mine off no problem to get the "O" ring terminal on. The nut just got a little tighter as it was about to come off.

exactly what I did, you have to push the little squared nut from the back side while you take the top nut off. I'm glad you confirmed that yours is working, that's how I have mine setup now

Sithel, what are the other cables running off your positive?

Volt gauge and a switch you see on the post i made above in the engine bay.

...this is the way I did it.
I would say this is probably the more correct way of doing it. Being I have my car put up for the winter I may change to this one day while being bored.

Sorry no picture

But I cut the round positive terminal circle opposite side of where the wire is.

Then spread the cut end open enough to slide over the squeeze assembly.

Loosened the squeeze assembly, slid the terminal between the battery terminal and the plastic squeeze section ( end opposite tightening nut )
