Mostly stock anyway. I spent the better part of the day taking the cobra jet mani off, the exhaust and the headers. The stock exhaust is back on, and the stock mani. I'm getting ready to take it to the dealer to see about getting a shor or long block replacement. The rattle and ticks were just becoming too much for me. I left the 4:11's in it which I dont think will be a problem and it may not even come up. I figure one probabal out come would be for them to replace the short or long block. another is that they could buy it back, and ofcourse there is always the chance that they will do nothing. I'll be perfectly honest. I'm hoping for a buy back. I want an a10 model either 18 or 19 and I kind of want some of the other bells and whistles too. if I wind up stuck with my car I will be fine with that as well. I love the car and it has been good to me.Constructive Thought's and opinions welcome. D bags are not

Hey Man, I think it is worth a shot at seeing what the dealer will do. The ticks/clicks are unfortunately normal for DI high reving v8. You do however have a lot of oil going through the PCV? When I pulled my PCV lines they had (passenger side) very little oil (put breathers on). With over 1000 miles on breather setup there is zero mess and zero oil going into intake track. People have their opinions on this mod over catch can.

Honestly, if a compression test is showing healthy cylinders a new motor w/ similiar mods more than likely will do the same thing. What are you really gaining? If you are trying to get the dealer to buy back your car so you can get one with more options that is kind of like asking for a free lunch...is it not? Having Ford take the loss so you benefit somehow is not right imo. You modded it and made 500 whp and because its noisy you want a new car... Not judging you, just giving honest non biased perspective. Good luck.

Thank you zinc03svt. I appreciate the honest and constructive feedback. I can pass off much of the little ticks to be normal, and I can definitely hear the d.i system , but the light load heavy metallic rattling has gotten so loud that it’s just ridiculous. I don’t really expect ford to buy the car back that is kind of a fantasy situation. But I do expect them to stand by their product. I’ve been a heavy line tech for 20+ years and I just can’t get on board with the whole super noisy engines are normal movement. I paid over 40k for this car and I want it to not make noise the same way it did for the first 1500 miles or so. I’m dropping it off Wednesday morning, so I guess I will soon know what the outcome will be

Ford’s Copperhead has your signature imbedded in the memory. No one at the dealer level is searching forums for your screen name and threads / posts.

Unless you see metal shavings in oil filter just keep driving it.. the internet made to many folks crazy for no reason. Most that got a block replaced never even saw any damage done for themselves. Dealers get paid for warranty work, are they all legit cases to replace a block or is dealer generating some dough for themselves.. I dunno.. the last thing I want is having a brand new engine torn down for a tick that comes and goes and isn't causing harm.

And the engine noise on these new cars is nothing compared to the early 2000 cobra models that people modded to race.. those things sounded like sewing machines

I am assuming, I know what that means , if you had the mods you took off you had a tune . If you had the tune installed ad then reflash back to stock , it will show up in mode 9 as to an ignition counter for the last pcm reset . What that means to all you out there is that you can take off all the visual mods but Ford can still tell if you have had a reflash .

Are the clicks and ticks not just a part of almost all engines nowadays.
Seems every car and pickup I hear regardless of the brand, does the same thing. It used to be unsettling to hear, now it has become normal to me. When buying my F150 the motor made ticking and clicking sounds like crazy. So i asked to start up about 20 other pickups on the lot, and all did the same thing. So did the Dodge, GMC, and Toyota engines of the trucks I looked at.
Well its now 4 years old and my 5.0 actually runs better than the day it was new.
Worst I've ever heard was in a VW golf, swore it had the cylinders filled up with golf balls, brand new car to.

Some dealers dont care as long as you reflash back to stock before bringing it in
