Here is my thought,
A 2018 GT-M6 with the number of mods this car has, it's most likely bounced off the red line more than a few times. Now he's trying to hold Ford Motor Co. responsible for a tick he hears! I call bullshit. No different than running your car at the drag strip hitting the wall and trying to claim it with your Insurance company as a hit and run. Or turning the miles back on the odometer of a leased car so you don't have to pay for going over miles. Man up, drive it like you stole it and fix it when it blows apart.

Mustang well said , the point I was trying to make is that even though you remove the mods ford knows . I have a modified mustang, I have worked for ford for 27 years , I know there game . I play it every day , not all dealers can look over a mod . Most of us have to play by the rules ford has set .

Running E85 is going to be the issue.
I’ll wager there’s going to be a bunch of eyebrows raised....... Borescope is probably coming out to check piston wash, valve and port color.
My dealer stopped short of saying to me E85 would be ok when I brought it up.. Tune and some bolt on's they can live with..

Interesting.. What allows some dealers to overlook mods and not the others? Purely ownership decision? Volume of sales?

Stangman638 , you are correct in what you say . I work at small dealer , but they own many small dealers surrounding a metro area . The level of what a dealership can do , prior approvals and such , depends on your sales volume . You have to rembear FMC is not wanting to repair cars . They are in the biz to sale vehicles, so they have to have a supporting network to repair said vehicles. They make the rules which have to be followed so said dealership can be payed for a manifacutred defect . It bites but, if you modify something and it fails it is up to you , or the supplier of said component , that it caused the said component to fail .

Ford’s Copperhead has your signature imbedded in the memory. No one at the dealer level is searching forums for your screen name and threads / posts.
True it can only remember the last 500 ignition cycles? After all I would think it could only store and save so much before being overwritten?

The rattle has nothing to do with racing or mods. There are numerous stock carefully driven cars out there with the same exact issue.

I see a nitrous kit in my future!
SMH... OP, you took a chance. You modded and had to tune to get it to run right. You raced it. Now you want a new motor cause it ticks ... or a new car!!! Wow. Don't expect sympathy. You dogged it. What's the mileage?

Once again, the rattle has nothing to do with mods or racing. I am willing to bet every 2018-2019 has the rattle to some extent. Some are louder than others.

By all means, those customers should take their car to the dealer and have it documented in writing as soon as possible. If a failure occurs because of this ticking sound they will have proof that the car came in for service for that particular reason.

Just to set the record straight. The car has been making the same noise since 1,100 miles. Well before I started modding it. In hind sight I probably should have addressed this issue before I started modding, but oh well it didn’t happen like that. This car has never seen nitrous, and the tune was spot on. If the car had made this noise since day one I could chock it up to normal, but the fact that it rolled off the dealer lot not making one single tick or rattle doesn’t set well with me. My appointment with the local dealer is Wednesday morning. We’ll see what the outcome is

9 times out of 10, the dealer will do nothing. Ford has been telling customers this is "normal" since the 2018s came out. Mine started right before I began using E85. It has been about the same since 2500 miles. I am at 3500 now. There are multiple theories on the cause, but I am not convinced any one of them is correct.
