I ordered some VMS wheels from Terry almost a year ago. Come to find out 17x10 were out of stock which I did not know when I ordered them. But Terry called me personally and we went through my options. I waited the nearly two months for them to come in.

I have dealt with BeefCake Racing for years and will continue to. No company is perfect but his is pretty damn close.

Just going to be another one who has ordered from Beefcake and gotten great service. Can't remember what I ordered, I think an oil separator. It was the last thing I ordered in a series of items, and the first to arrive. It definitely appears to be a miscommunication or maybe an email automatically went to a spam folder type deal.

I wish I could say the same for other very big names in the industry...I'm talking 4 months on a 4 week lead item.

" Most orders are shipped within 1-2 business days. "

That's the crux of the issue right there. A customer sees that and has expectations.

Granted it says "most" but it should also say "Feel free to contact us to be 100% sure.", or words to that effect.

Have also used Beefcake and they were very cool. I did ask for the wheels I ordered to be shipped to my work and they called me to follow up on that and make sure it was all legit.

Really sounds like BMR is at fault for not living up to their promises to Beefcake which results in Beefcake's promises not being held up which is really out of their hands.

Amazon has ruined expectations which is really extra funny because Amazon itself sucks for shipping times anymore, promising you next day and then saying actually it will be longer almost every order anymore. The only stuff you get fast from that place anymore is cheap junk.

Nothing special about BMR. Just buy a different brand

the quality of a company is revealed not in good experiences but in the fog of mistakes and confusion.

I've never used beefcake but they handled this perfectly and its legitimately impressive.

almost nobody in this industry does anything BUT dropship the stuff they don't make personally in house. sometimes the stuff we want is on back order, it just happens.

the worst thing is when customers complicate situations and then complain about situations being complicated.

I've ordered a lot of parts from beef cake and was real happy till I ordered my Whipple kit, it sat on my floor for two weeks till we could install it. it was at that time I noticed parts missing I called Beefcake they asked me if I took pictures when I unboxed everything I said no, they said well I ll call Whipple and let you know what they say, I never heard from them again. I don't know if it was a error or they just didn't care to make it right with me. either way I'm done with them.
Terry reached out to me to correct this situation today I appreciate his help in wanting to resolve the issue

In a perfect world:

Sellers wouldn't charge your card until your order shipped
Suppliers and sellers would have accurate, real-time inventory tracking

I've ordered plenty of things from BCR over the years. But all of the big sellers have these same issues.

What does look so perfect and impressive to you?

Sure, and for that reason other big sellers mark it "out of stock" or "shipment may delay" accordingly, BCR doesn't. In my case I had a deadline for delivery and emphasized it beforehand. BCR just ignored it.

the worst thing is when customers complicate situations and then complain about situations being complicated.
If you refer to my case, please be more specific.

What a load of crap. What big car parts websites do that exactly for every item in their shop?

You think BMR sends out notices to anyone carrying their goods saying "hey we're backed up add a note to your store about that"? 😂

We get it you want to complain about your bad experience. You did that and we heard your story.
But don't think you're gonna convince us all that beefcake is trash.

I didn't read everything but it appears that your grievance was addressed, remedy was offered as well an explanation. then they interacted with other sin the same thread.

1. infrastructure and websites have limitations
2. if you have hard deadlines you need to hit its on you to ensure you do everything to grease the skids and find the right supplier to facilitate your needs.
3. mistakes happen

If you refer to my case, please be more specific.

The company handled the issue well.

Assessment
Ownership of the issue: A
Remedy offered: A
Overall: A+

This was a routine supply-chain problem in the aftermarket performance-parts business, and the company did what it was supposed to do.

What matters

The relevant questions are:

  • Did the company recognize the problem?
  • Did it take responsibility for addressing it?
  • Did it offer the customer real remedies?

The answer is yes on all three.

What the company did correctly

  • Identified the manufacturer production delay.
  • Communicated that the part was unavailable.
  • Checked alternate sourcing channels.
  • Offered an alternate color when inventory appeared.
  • Held one temporarily for the customer.
  • Allowed cancellation with full refund.

That is exactly what competent handling looks like in this context.

Why the company comes out strong here

The seller cannot manufacture inventory that does not exist. What it can do is respond properly once the problem is known. Here, it provided both:

  • a fulfillment alternative, and
  • a clean exit path.

That means the customer was neither trapped nor ignored. The company addressed the issue and offered remedies.

Bottom line

This reads as a company dealing appropriately with a normal industry availability problem and giving the customer reasonable options. On the merits, the company performed at a high level.

Final grade

A+

I have 12 employees. We are performance focused. On the site, we list about 1/2 million items.

To do a live daily inventory between us and all our distributions centers, I would have to hire a minimum of 100 people to try to update daily, I'd be out of business in 2 weeks. Not realistic for a company our size.

Your always welcome to call up front, we take call 9-9 seven days a week for a lead time up front.

I feel you are being very unreasonable , ok you made you point , for whatever reason. Beefcake has gone over and above to refund your money , explain the situation, but no reason to rake him or his Company over the coal's. You need to drop it , and move on . He has been more reasonable to this point than I ever would be , but now you are unreasonable and I would tell you to take your money and go elsewhere to buy your parts . I was middle of the road , but you blew that on you last post .
