which can be solved with the Steeda shift bushing ($70, highly recommended) and optionally also the trans front insert. To minimize 2-3 lockout, bleed the system correctly, have fresh fluid, and don't shift at redline.

The biggest 'problem' with the V6 is the horrendous RPM hang that is very apparent with a manual trans. A tune fixes that right up and also makes that engine PULL nice and clean to redline instead of lumbering slowly and ponderously up the tachometer. It really was an eye-opening contrast.
What is that?

This is the first 6spd I have owned, and first manual in a long time. I love it. Does it act differently cold? Yes. Do it nibble every now and then? Yes. Other than that, and those really dont matter to me, i love it.

You shouldn't powershift this gearbox anyway. It's not designed for that. You can't blame it for misbehaving if you take it out of its comfort zone.
Use it as it's designed to be used, and it will be fine.
What defines a powershift out of curiosity?

Shifting without releasing the throttle. It makes for a faster shift, but not all gearboxes can take it. The Mach 1, apparently, can.
Gotcha. I don't do that, I even have learned the perfect timings to make full rpm shifts happy on this car. Nothing more satisfying than a 7500rpm 2-3 shift, lol.

I've heard rumors and mysticisms that the 19+ cars have "no lift shift" just like the Mach 1 does, where it will cut the throttle automatically if you push the clutch in while floored over 5000RPM. But I'm not gonna try it.

Me neither. Besides, even if the ECU were programmed to keep the revs steady and keep the engine from bouncing off the limiter, there would still be an awful lot of stress on the synchros - which I'm sure they were not meant to take.

That's not how this type of shift in the Mustang (I think Ford calls it "No Lift Shift") is supposed to work. The intent is not to keep the revs steady, as that would lead to a jerking effect once you engage the next gear, which no-one wants (least of all the track guys driving fast, for who this feature is intended for. Who want's their car to jerk and bounce when shifting at 100+ mph, or perhaps even coming out of a corner?).

Revs are supposed to drop automatically (even though you have the throttle floored) so that the RPM is at the correct range for the higher gear. Just like if you had done it yourself, just faster and better. Like the rev-matching done for downshifts.

Apparently the NLS added with the optional FP pack/tune for the Mustang 2015-2017 worked terribly, but there's a video on the Australian forum where you can see it in effect on mach1, and it looks perfect, apart from possibly being a bit slow, but I think that slowness is just because the driver is doing the shift a bit slow/non-rushed. I'm hoping the NLS feature supposedly in the FP tune for the 2018+ Mustang is similar to the mach1, but not sure.

Personally, I think a lot of the blind MT82 hate isn't justified.

While I think the TR6060 in my '07 GT500 was the best of the manual transmissions in the Mustangs I've had, I really don't have a gripe about the MT82 in my '15. It's been flawless for me with BG oil and the Steeda support bracket/bushing.

Thanks for your input, and my apologies for the ignorance, but is this the oil you're referring to? I'll be swapping the fluids shortly after I get it home.
