Curious.i started the car and it asked me if I wanted system updates automatically. I said yes, using Wi-Fi.after I said that I recalled doing the same thing for wife's 17 caddy xts.the Wi-Fi ran for hours draining her battery,so now I use usb.so figure I'll just turn off auto upfate on gt.not so easy
Watched a Ford video and they say go to general settings and scroll to auto update tab.i don't have one.then it says you can turn it off or on thru the auto update tab, which I can't find in my general settings.any help on turning off auto update and enabling me to just use usb would be appreciated.thanks.

Silly question. When you entered the general screen did you scroll down?

Yes and the top line in your screen shot isn't there
I know. Couldn’t find a screenshot of the entire screen. So this is one of those, it has to be there but it is not. Can you post some screenshots of your screen?

The short answer is yes if you have auto updates & wifi setup turned on. The long answer is maybe. :frown::headbang:
Bluetooth phone & car, turn phone's & car's wifi on?

I hate reading manuals!!!

In theory yes, but 2Gb, or more for maps, over WiFi will take an age - much simpler to download onto a USB stick on your PC
Don't have Nav. Just want any other SYNC3 updates. Maybe some that get Android phones working better with it.
