Are Racing Stripes LAME? PLEASE HELP!

I don't think the "Le Mans" stripes (often referred to as "racing stripes") are lame so to speak.

What I find is that some which are painted or vinyl applied - the stripe width AND the separation line between the stripes is either way to narrow or sometimes way too wide.

They couid be considered by some to be overrated but to others, it adds character to the vehicle. On some vehicles they "fit", on others not so fitting due to body lines, type of vehicle, etc. Colors can also be too loud or too soft - depending on the underlying base color of the vehicle.

As most others have said, it’s your car, do what makes you happy. I personally think the 350’s look sharp with the stripes (on yours, black with a red pinstripe would look killer). As for Big Worm, I had them on my previous S550 and the installer I took it to said they quality of the vinyl is top notch. Do what makes you happy!

Personally I like stripes on a Mustang. And definitely you do you. When modding a car in any way, I always ask, "What is it I want to accomplish? What do I want the car to do?" Definitely stripe up your car. For the 1991 Lincoln Town Car I had (LOVED that car -- Panther platforms are great!) , stripes would not work. So some mods are not universal.
If I owned a car company, we'd do a lot of innovation, but we would NOT offer white as a color option. White cars suck. The *only* exception would be if it had blue stripes. Or red, or grey stripes. Something to tone down and compliment that blinding white...

One suggestion for you: even though the color is off on your new hood stripes, if the color is acceptable to you, have the shop make stripes for the rest of your car and cover up the existing stripes ( or remove existing, if they're vinyl). You already spent the money for the front, so....

I may be in the minority but I like stripes. But I'm a female, so my perception may be different lol. I think stripes complete the look of some cars, especially some of the GT500's. In your case, I would definitely suggest finishing them on the hood. The color combo is nice.

I like white S550s with blue stripes. That is the only combo I like. But that is just me.

My HPP came with silly silver hood stripes which I demanded the dealer remove before delivery.

So I been trying to decide whether or not racing stripes are lame or . Because

1. I had a vinyl shop make me some for the front portion of my rebuilt GT350 and the color is way off.
2. for me to purchase the original ones its roughly $1000 just for the front portion
3. purchase an aftermarket stripe kit and hopefully the quality isn't complete
4. Go for the clean look and remove all the stripes currently on it?
5. just leave it the way it is be different. lol

I find gray, black, and white to be pretty bland colors on the S550. So in my opinion, colorful stripes add good flare to the appearance of the car! I'd say keep rocking the blue stripes, they look great. How you remedy your situation is up to you, though.

I can't imagine my car ever not having stripes, they add so much character!

My stripes include narrow red pin stripes, picking up the color of the interior. I've resisted switching to white or smoked tail lights, just to continue the red theme.
