So I’m deciding if long tube headers are worth the price N/A ? For the price of headers and having a shop install I can get my car wrapped a different color… I do like how they make the car louder and a little HP. Do you guys think it’s worth the price ? Or spend it elsewhere ?
I was wrestling around with the same idea. Are LTH really worth it... Doesn't seem like it to me considering the cost of parts and install...

Well I bought the car new so I don’t have to smog it for couple years lol. Also their are other ways to pass wink wink
The Stanless Works/Power headers can be ordered with upgraded Gesi GEN2 cats that are EPA compliant. I had a chat with a rep. at Gesi about this because I wanted to see if their 4.5" core option (PN 85230) could be had with the stainless power connections already on them. These cats are good up to 850 hp each. Apparently a 4.5" core wont fit under our cars (although Im not entirely convinced of this).

The SW-GESI400 are the 4" core version, and both Stainless Works and Gesi confirmed to me that they are rated for 650 hp each. EPA compliant.

Also to note, tuning and settings have a lot to do with passing emissions. My car even with the Gesi sport cats has all the readiness monitors set, thanks to Wengerd.

As said, way upstairs, and also I said, open exhaust. It'll get killed everywhere else.
It picks up everywhere if sized correctly.

Most tuners know next to FA when it comes to practical applications. They only tell you what google tells them. BACKPRESSURE IS DETRIMENTAL TO MAKING HORSEPOWER. Backpressure reduces velocity & scavenging, the latter two are the things that make horsepower. Put a giant restriction (IE: backpressure) in the exhaust of a SC/Turbo car and watch boost go up, but you're not making 1 single more horsepower.

Now if you put a header & open exhaust on a 120hp 4 banger, you'll lose horsepower.

Why you ask ?

Because velocity and scavenging just went to shit. You may make 2-3 hp way way upstairs, but you'll lose a lot everywhere else. Same with the coyote, bigger gains way upstairs, bigger losses everywhere else. Fine if you only live at WOT.

Same with LTH design for coyotes. 20-30 gain NA (which most manufactures claim) is a pipedream. All yer doing with collector sizes, collector length, primary pipe diameters, primary pipe length is moving the powerband around. That's why CATTED REAL GAINS is only a few horsepower over the factory headers. Ford did a VERY GOOD JOB and spent a lot of money designing the factory coyote headers.

1-2$K LTH need clearancing just like the 200$ Ebay headers. Something wrong there.

I will agree that gesi is the way to go, but damn spendy.

Anyways, I could go on. But I think the point is made.
I believe even the most mechanically challenged could look at these photos and see a choke designed into the collector. What might one believe the choke is for? Care to take a guess who made these headers? See the hint in the bottom photo....

Of course it is, because it doesn't fit your narrative....kinda like wheel material effects the torque rating of lug nuts (which wasn't your narrative, but your back pressure narrative is similar). How many headers, exhaust systems, or anything requiring knowledge of fluid dynamics, flow characteristic analysis, etc., have you actually designed?

Of course you have….ever actually make any of them? Lemme guess….”too many to count,” right?

I'll leave it there.

It's made from the bullshit dreams of some rank amateur. Spikes are made for slowing supersonic air to subsonic speeds, on the inlet side. Maybe he thought this would do the reverse. I dunno. That collector is also complete garbage.

So I'm guessing a 2K$ set of kooks... where expensive means placebo fast.

PBH already proved that a TT F-150 w/ stock cast iron manifolds WILL make a 1000 boosted horsepower.

Ah, I see. It’s interesting there’s so much conviction about spikes and speed of the pulses, followed by “I dunno.” So, how many sets of $2000 headers are you selling?

I believe the next time I’m checking out at the grocery store I’ll ask the cashier how to design a better cash register.

Have a good night….

My name is not Ed, but thank you for the compliment, as he was one of the smartest people I have ever met.

Love my KooKs headers. Love the sound. Don't care about the numbers. She is already a beast.
