Any reason not to remove my surfboard sized engine cover on my 5.0?

I'm surprised all the hate for the 2018+ engine cover? I also have a Coyote swapped fox body and would absolutely love for the engine cover to be able to fit under the stock hood.

It's not hate it's the owners that have good taste, we like seeing the mechanicals. More interesting than a pizza box top.

I just checked my 2018 GT and it does have a foam sound deadening on the underside. Of course, the foam is now falling apart when you reach under and touch it. Must be the high heat!

Besides the Bullit option from Ford stated above, they also have a supercharger cover that may be an option, also expensive. I like some of the cut down versions, but I'm saving mine for when I sell car.

They won't fit. They are made for Ford Performance/Roush superchargers. They need those brackets where you can mount them on.

Then yours is must be a factory freak  . There have been no other reports of foam attached to the plastic space ship. There is a foam block covering the DI fuel pump though. But this is not related to the cover at all.

I added a shock tower brace, and then realized that between the shock tower brace, and the sound tube, the oil dipstick was mostly inaccessible. Cover is removed, I do like the idea of repurposing the 5.0 emblem - I might do something with that.

you can keep it and hydro dip it to match your ride, maybe some cool crazy colors. I as well like the look of a nice engine, but these days there is so much wiring and electronics, I tried this and glad I did, really set the car off with the hood open food for thought

my pp2 has a p1x done in black, so the white engine cover with the faux carbon fiber down the middle made for a nice contrast with the procharger

I posted this yesterday, it might help :

Iā€™ve always struggled with the strut brace and dipstick position, but by chance I dropped on the perfect method (for me) - dipstick in from the front of the strut bar, whilst my right hand at the back of the strut bar does the work pushing it down the tube (no pushing with the left ā€˜guide handā€™ which just stops it contacting the brace or engine cover) :

It made what I had always found a fiddly job to be very easy - and I tried it a few times to make sure it wasnā€™t a fluke ā€¦ :giggle:

I noticed lower cylinder head temps when I pulled mine off. I usually sat around 210, give or take, now the car comfortably sits around 196/198 unless I'm idling for a while.
I removed mine for heat as well.
