Any reason not to remove my surfboard sized engine cover on my 5.0?

I think a natural engine looks better than plastic covers. Any issues with the oil filler neck no longer braced at the top?

I took mine off with in the first 500 miles. But I'm a fan of the raw look of it all. No surfboard needed.

Good question, I don’t have mine yet but I would think you’re fine removing. A fair amount of people have from what i can tell. As for the aftermarket, the DI pump is in the way, so the coil covers for the Gen2 coyote won’t work.

Yeah took mine off as soon as i got home from the dealer. Repurposed the emblem.

Both your cars look great. I will say however over the 6 months of ownership of my Mach 1 keeping the engine looking clean is a chore.

I removed my cover shortly after bringing the car home. The oil fill neck can be removed, then you can add the fill cap directly to the valve cover. I just reinstall the neck when I change the oil, since it is easier to pour oil in with the neck in place.

I noticed lower cylinder head temps when I pulled mine off. I usually sat around 210, give or take, now the car comfortably sits around 196/198 unless I'm idling for a while.

My engine room used to look like this. If I wouldn't have made room for the SC it would still look this. I think the cover did a great job hiding the awful arrangement underneath.

I got a refund. We agreed mine was faulty, the tune or readings that came with the box. But, when it worked you really could feel the difference compared to stock. This is my thread I started when things went iffy with the box.

After returning to stock things were normal again. Steeda gave me just a tune (no CAI) I was happy with until I upgraded.
