I'm a Toyota tech. I'm sure ford techs could tell the difference. Most of the guys I work with are into imports:barf:
Oh... those cars that all look alike??? :D It takes 150 ft/lbs of torque just to tighten my lug nuts. But, to each his own - one man's junk is another man's treasure.

That is all...

"Oh nice rustang"

"Oh that'll break down soon, hope you got warranty"

"Why didn't you just get a quality car like a Mercedes C class or a BMW 3 series"- this comment came from my father in law. The most difficult part was keeping my mouth shut.

There will always be people who are baffled that you don't think exactly like they do. I'm sure the C class is a good car, so is a loaded Honda Accord. A friend of mine bought a very expensive sports car and his father-in-law didn't ask about horsepower or handling or anything like that. He asked what the mpg was on it. Some people will never get it.

Drove topless out to the Lake and stopped at a cafe that overlooked the Lake. Parked next to the lake and walked up to the cafe where some well dressed couple was having a glass of wine on the porch. The clueless Dude asks, "So how do you like your Aston vert"? Huh, I answered. "Is that purple leather"?. I tell him that it is purple leather. He thinks my Mustang is an Aston Martin convertible. I don't tell him differently but realize that he's looking at the car from 60 yards away and from above and from the front. Not really a negative comment to be confused with an Aston. That clueless couple thought I was RICH...and in some respects I truly am!

I'd take that as a huge compliment. These new stangs are some of the best looking american cars produced.

The one thing I really would have liked Ford to do, I'll show my age here. Use a different splitter, ground effect kit or something to distinguish the GT/PP v/s base GT and EB/v6 models. My 89GT was wrapped with plastic and different nose piece plus tail lights and the lx 5.0 just badges 6&4 plain.

So you didn't notice PP has a different splitter than the rest ? All these threads about installing it and requiring belly pan ? Nothing ?

You can still tell a GT from miles away. Hood vents, 5.0 badges, rear badge, etc.

Been there, done that. Never ever in a billion years buying a BMW unless I have the cash to get a M4.

Mustang people will know the difference between PP and non-PP. Normal people couldn't careless.

I have yet to see a PP in the wild. I've been very surprised that the vast majority of S550's I see out and about are V6's. Girlfriend got an Ecoboost convertible as a loaner car while her car was in the shop a couple of weeks ago, and I think that was the first Ecoboost I'd actually seen on the streets.

My guess on why I haven't seen any PP's is probably that nobody wants to be driving a manual in NYC traffic.
