Honestly i get ALOT of hate on this car, to the point where it really annoys me. I am 25 but look more like 20 i guess, so i think that has a lot to do with it. Its not from people that know me, it is just random people that go out their way to come over and talk shit. For some reason everyone thinks it is like a $50k car. Like i went to my gf at the time, nephews birthday party, her family was pretty red neck, all they did was talk shit.

...and you learned not to date byproducts of redneck families? You can take the girl outta the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park outta the girl...

If there is a comment(s) I hear frequently it is either: "Lol, but what are you gonna do when you have to turn?" or "That car can't handle high speeds." I have heard the 2-door fusion comments as well and having an automatic 5.0L will probably garner me some flak as well.

In terms of the German car debate. If you are not willing to pay attention to the maintenance of the car, do NOT buy one. I have owned an 08' E60 545i and an 01' CLK 430 AMG and they were a joy to drive, but if you forget to take care of them (constant maintenance) you will undoubtedly fall victim to the repair costs.

None of them compare to the joy of driving a modern american muscle/sports car though. The game has changed, enjoy it before the V8 is outlawed.

We were walking to the parking lot on our way to lunch one day and one guy had ridden his bike to work, and the other left his keys on his desk, so I got to drive. The guy who rode in the back asked how to get in, beats me I don't sit back there! Then he complained he didn't have any headroom, so now I've removed the rear seat. Problem solved. Now I just need a good delete kit.

Wow that's crazy, I was thinking about getting an older SLK (I love the 32, but maybe the 230) as a second car for the heck of it but most have 100k+ miles and I don't even what to experience fixing it. Might just get a 94-95 Miata and call it a day. If you drive easy with the GT you can see over 20, but there is no fun in that!
Maybe I just have bad luck. It also leaked every fluid outside of oil when I first bought it. Wiper fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, etc haha. I still love the car, but don't give me that German reliability bullshit. It's marketing hype. If you really want something reliable, Japanese really is the way to go, and they don't cost any more to repair compared to most US cars anyway.

Nothing too bad, mostly compliments actually, but every now and then you get the stereotypical "car" idiot aka, one of my friends. Conversation went like this.

Him: You get the V8?
Me: Nah, V6
Him: Ohhhhhh myyyy godddd.....only the V6!?
Me: Yeah?
Him: Stick?
Me:.....no, automatic
Him: Wow, I'd never get an automatic, it makes me feel like less of a man.
Me: What's your truck?
Him: Automatic

Granted he drives a brand new fully loaded Silverado 4x4 so I get it, it's obviously an automatic but still. Some people don't get it.

The Mustang is my DD. I don't need 400+ horsepower for driving to work. Plus I drive 60+ miles per day and didn't want to be filling up my tank every other day. Andddd, I don't have a magic money tree to just pull an extra $10,000 out of my ass for the V8.

Automatic? Because I've heard good things about that transmission on this car, and I got tired of driving a stick, and it's mostly highway miles - there's no traffic or big cities around here.

Anyway, no big deal but for the few who give me that crap, I do get sick of trying to justify things. It's almost like some people have different priorities, who would have thought? /s

Other than that, everyone seems to think the car looks great. Most average people wouldn't ever be able to distinguish any of the cars (4 banger, V6, V8) apart unless you tell them the info.

^^^ Nothing wrong with the V6 and automatic. I drove one (rental car) on a business trip in Hawaii and really enjoyed it.

I know the engine discussion is always going on around here and granted, there are plenty of ignorant people around these forums too, but for the most part, people here seem to get it.

Like I said, it all comes down to priorities and what you want - some people just don't understand that people buy this car as a daily driver and have no plans of ever having it touch a track.

I also get a lot of comments like "how did you afford that!?" etc., and overall, people probably thinking I have more money than I really do haha, since honestly, I don't know many people my age driving this nice of a car (I'm 25). But in reality, this car is one of the best "bang for your buck" vehicles out there, especially when you start looking at horsepower.

And people fail to realize that the car only cost me around $24k. My fiances 2014 Focus cost more, but since it's "just a Focus" nobody would ever realize that. Most uninformed people look at a Mustang and probably instantly think the thing cost $30k-$40k+. It's not always a bad thing to have people misunderstand that lol.

I haven't even got my car and my buddies are ragging on me (all imports). I give as good as I get most times, but it's hard to keep talking crap back when I don't even have my car!

A short time after I took Delivery on my TY Eco-Boost, Some punk kid in a 13 or 14 white GT pulls up along side of me at a light and gave me a THUMBS DOWN...WTF?...I guess he hated the look of the new stang..to each their own I guess.....
Also a co-worker banged on me for not getting the GT..I told him "300 horses was plenty for me"

I have gotten that vibe Except at track days (gee I wonder why) The guy's with S197 Bosses and GT's were all very positve about my car. For the most part I've never met a DICK at any Sports Car related event be it Fans, Drivers, Staff or Teams. #MyPeople Pretty much everyone complimented me on my car at the track, which was weird when a guy in a very expensive Porshce stopped to tell me how nice my car looked on track :headbang::ford:

I could care less about the general public's opinion. I love my car :D
