Only negative comments I've seen are from Mustang owners on this forum that don't like the Ecoboost. Or the Manual. Or others that don't like the auto.

The closest I've gotten to negative comments from outside this forum are concerns about fitting child seats in.

A co-worker who sits cross me, who I'm not too big a fan of, and who also happens to be a die-hard prius driver/environmentalist, found out I drove the "8 liter 5 cylinder gas guzzler" GT, confronted me about it in front of other people in an aggressive tone. She was asking me questions like:

"Do you feel good about tearing holes in the ozone layer everytime you drive to work?"

"I bet you use all of your 800 horsepower in stop an go traffic, right?"

"Are you trying to compensate for something driving that car?"

"I hope you tell your future kids all about how contributed to the global increase in daily smog levels because you thought it was cool to ruin the environment when you were young".

Unbelievable...

All the negative comments I get are from 11-14 5.0 owners
I was at a car meet last Thursday and tried striking up a conversation with a '12 GT owner that had a twin turbo kit installed. He was a piece of shit that made me feel like I was being talked down to.

I don't like to generalize, but the only time I get any kind of critique is from S197 owners (only some).

Yea I have no idea what their deal is, every gives nothing but compliments but S197 owners, nice Fusion, 2015 doesn't even look like a Mustang, s197 is the best mustang ever...etc.

People who criticize things that aren't factually based are just insecure. They don't like that the S550 is overall a much better car and have to justify theirs. A secure S197 owner would say something like "well, the styling isn't for me, but very nice Mustang".

While in North Carolina on a week vacation to drive the nice roads up there, one loud mouth old weekend biker was loudly explaining to his friends how the new Hellcat is so much faster than a new Mustang... ok?

Then as we were walking out of the restaurant he observed how my Comp Orange was a shade of pink, nudge nudge to his fellow leather chaps wearing buddies.

I figured karma had already been cruel enough to him, so it wasn't worth even making a comment. Can't cure ignorance, or at least I didn't have enough ammo to cure em all.

We've got a "breaking necks/compliments" thread, so lets do the opposite. Has anyone had any negative comments or stigma associated with their new Pony?

I've not received mine yet, its due April next year, but my brother is already giving me flack for it. His favourite sentence seems to be "German Engineering!"

The Mustang, according to him, is too unsophisticated, too thirsty, bad because its American and not German, too unreliable because its not German and then told me I should've gotten an Audi S3 instead for the same money.
A major reason I wasn't going to buy German was their [over]engineering. You just have to sacrifice bizarre and expensive parts to those cars to keep them happy. No thank you! Plus my neighborhood is lousy with German cars (the people who can afford them drive German, the people who can't drive Japanese), so driving American goes against the grain in a way that I enjoy... :D
